أكد وزير الخارجية الأمير فيصل بن فرحان بن عبدالله، أن المملكة تشارك هذا العام في أعمال الأسبوع الرفيع المستوى للجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة في نيويورك حاملة رسالة السلم والعدل.
وقال وزير الخارجية إن المملكة على مدى تاريخها منذ عهد المؤسس -طيب اللّه ثراه- وعبر تاريخ ملوك المملكة العربية السعودية وصولا لخادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، وولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأمير محمد بن سلمان -حفظهما الله- سباقة في إرساء دعائم السلام وتفعيل مبدأ الحوار والحلول السلمية على الأصعدة كافة.
وأضاف وزير الخارجية بمناسبة مرور 80 عاما على تأسيس الأمم المتحدة: كانت المملكة وما زالت تبذل الجهود كافة لإرساء السلام العادل في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وفي العالم، إذ إن المملكة من الدول المؤسسة للأمم المتحدة عام 1945، وشاركت في أول مؤتمر لها، ومن أبرز الدول التي تمتلك تاريخا مشرفا في فض النزاعات وإحلال السلام عبر جهود الوساطة التي تبذلها، بفضل سياساتها الحكيمة وعلاقاتها المتوازنة مع جميع الأطراف؛ ما جعلها وسيطا دوليا موثوقا في المجتمع الدولي. وحرصت المملكة على بذل كل جهد ممكن في سبيل ترجمة ميثاق الأمم المتحدة إلى واقع ملموس، عبر ترسيخ احترام القانون الدولي، وحفظ الأمن والسلم الدوليين، ودعم قنوات العمل الدولي المتعدد الأطراف في جميع المجالات.
كما أشار إلى سعي المملكة الدائم لإنهاء معاناة الإنسان الفلسطيني، وإيقاف دائرة العنف المستمرة، مؤكدا أن القضية الفلسطينية على رأس أولويات المملكة في كل المحافل الدولية، وستبذل جهودها كافة لتحقيق حلٍّ عادل يبدأ بتجسيد دولة فلسطين المستقلة، ويؤدي لإحلال سلام إقليمي شامل ومستدام.
Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah confirmed that the Kingdom is participating this year in the high-level week of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, carrying a message of peace and justice.
The Foreign Minister stated that throughout its history, since the era of the founder - may Allah have mercy on him - and through the history of the kings of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, up to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman - may Allah protect them - the Kingdom has been a pioneer in establishing the foundations of peace and activating the principle of dialogue and peaceful solutions at all levels.
He added, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations: The Kingdom has always exerted all efforts to establish just peace in the Middle East and in the world, as it is one of the founding countries of the United Nations in 1945, and participated in its first conference. It is one of the prominent countries that has a distinguished history in resolving disputes and establishing peace through its mediation efforts, thanks to its wise policies and balanced relations with all parties; which has made it a reliable international mediator in the international community. The Kingdom has been keen to make every possible effort to translate the United Nations Charter into tangible reality, by reinforcing respect for international law, maintaining international peace and security, and supporting channels of multilateral international cooperation in all fields.
He also pointed to the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to end the suffering of the Palestinian people and to stop the ongoing cycle of violence, emphasizing that the Palestinian issue is at the top of the Kingdom's priorities in all international forums, and it will exert all its efforts to achieve a just solution that begins with the realization of an independent State of Palestine, leading to the establishment of comprehensive and sustainable regional peace.
