The Gulf Defense Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council approved, in its meeting today (Thursday) in Doha, the increased exchange of intelligence information through the unified military command, and the work to transfer the aerial situation picture to all operations centers in the member states.

The statement emphasized the necessity of accelerating the work of the joint Gulf task force for the early warning system against ballistic missiles and updating the joint defense plans of the Gulf Cooperation Council member states, as well as conducting joint exercises between the air operations and defense centers.

The joint statement confirmed that the aggression against Qatar constitutes a direct threat to the security and stability of the region and an infringement on the diplomatic and mediation efforts undertaken by Qatar to reach a ceasefire in Gaza, expressing its condemnation "in the strongest terms" of the serious military aggression against the State of Qatar.

It pointed out that this aggressive act represents a serious escalation of the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter.

The Supreme Military Committee of the Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Gulf Cooperation Council held an urgent meeting yesterday (Wednesday) in the Qatari capital, Doha, with the participation of the Assistant Secretary-General for Military Affairs at the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council, Major General (Pilot) Issa bin Rashid Al-Mohannadi, and the Commander of the Unified Military Command, Major General Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al-Balawi.

The meeting discussed the threats and challenges facing the Gulf Cooperation Council member states, as well as discussions on enhancing their joint defenses and strengthening Gulf deterrence capabilities.
