تحت رعاية وزير الخارجية الأمير فيصل بن فرحان بن عبدالله، افتتح نائب وزير الخارجية المهندس وليد بن عبدالكريم الخريجي، اليوم، في معهد الأمير سعود الفيصل للدراسات الدبلوماسية بمدينة الرياض، ملتقى وزارة الخارجية الأول لليوم العالمي للقانون، الذي يقام بالشراكة مع المركز السعودي للتحكيم التجاري.
وشارك في افتتاح الملتقى، رئيس مجلس إدارة المركز السعودي للتحكيم التجاري الدكتور وليد بن سليمان أبانمي، والرئيس التنفيذي للمركز السعودي للتحكيم التجاري الدكتور حامد بن حسن ميره، ووكيل الخدمات المساندة بوزارة الخارجية الدكتور منصور بن صالح اليامي، ومدير عام الإدارة العامة للشؤون القانونية بوزارة الخارجية محمد بن سعود الناصر.
قيمة سامية
وألقى نائب وزير الخارجية كلمةً أوضح فيها أن الملتقى يُجسد في جوهره قيمة سامية وركيزة أساسية من ركائز استقرار الدول وضمان حقوق الأفراد والمجتمعات.
وقال الخريجي: «إن القانون ليس مجرد نصوص مكتوبة أو لوائح منظِّمة، بل هو منظومة متكاملة من القيم والمبادئ التي تضمن العدل والمساواة، وتحفظ الحقوق، وتبني جسور الثقة بين الدولة ومواطنيها، وبين الدول بعضها البعض».
تحقيق التنمية
وأوضح أن العالم المعاصر الذي تزداد فيه التحديات وتتقاطع فيه المصالح، يبرز دور القانون الدولي والدبلوماسية القانونية كأداة حضارية لتسوية النزاعات، وتعزيز التعاون وتحقيق التنمية المستدامة.
وأكد الخريجي أن وزارة الخارجية، من خلال إدارتها العامة للشؤون القانونية، تؤدي دوراً محورياً في تمثيل المملكة قانونياً على الساحة الدولية، وصوْن مصالحها، والتأكيد على التزامها بالمعايير القانونية والاتفاقيات الدولية، بما يعكس صورة مشرقة لوطننا الغالي ويعزز من مكانته بين الأمم.
Under the patronage of Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Engineer Waleed bin Abdulkarim Al-Khuraiji, inaugurated today, at the Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies in Riyadh, the first Ministry of Foreign Affairs forum for the International Day of Law, which is held in partnership with the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration.
Participating in the opening of the forum were the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration, Dr. Waleed bin Suleiman Abanami, the CEO of the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration, Dr. Hamid bin Hassan Meirah, the Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mansour bin Saleh Al-Yami, and the Director General of the General Administration for Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Saud Al-Nasser.
Noble Value
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs delivered a speech in which he clarified that the forum embodies, in its essence, a noble value and a fundamental pillar of the stability of nations and the guarantee of the rights of individuals and communities.
Al-Khuraiji said: “Law is not merely written texts or organizing regulations, but rather a comprehensive system of values and principles that ensure justice and equality, protect rights, and build bridges of trust between the state and its citizens, and among nations themselves.”
Achieving Development
He explained that the contemporary world, which faces increasing challenges and intersecting interests, highlights the role of international law and legal diplomacy as a civilizational tool for resolving disputes, enhancing cooperation, and achieving sustainable development.
Al-Khuraiji affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through its General Administration for Legal Affairs, plays a pivotal role in representing the Kingdom legally on the international stage, safeguarding its interests, and emphasizing its commitment to legal standards and international agreements, which reflects a bright image of our dear homeland and enhances its status among nations.
