تمكنت الدوريات الميدانية للقوات الخاصة للأمن البيئي وهي تؤدي مهماتها في تنفيذ نظام البيئة في منطقة المدينة المنورة، من القبض على (3) مواطنين ومقيم من الجنسية الباكستانية، وهم طلال صنت السهلي, وحامد صنت السهلي, وخليل مهدي السهلي، وفيصل الرهار بخش، لارتكابهم مخالفة صيد كائن فطري مهدد بالانقراض «الذئب العربي»، وضبط بحوزتهم بندقية شوزن، وبندقية هوائية، و(70) ذخيرة متنوعة، وأوقفوا واتخذت الإجراءات النظامية بحقهم، وأحيلوا إلى الجهة المختصة.
وشددت القوات الخاصة للأمن البيئي على الالتزام بنظام البيئة ولوائحه التنفيذية التي تحظر صيد الكائنات الفطرية، مؤكدةً أن عقوبة صيد الكائنات الفطرية المهددة بالانقراض تصل إلى السجن لمدة (10) سنوات وغرامة تصل إلى (10) ملايين أو بإحدى هاتين العقوبتين، عقوبة صيد الذئب العربي غرامة (80,000) ريال، وعقوبة استخدام بنادق الشوزن في الصيد غرامة (100,000) ريال.
وأهابت بالمبادرة بالإبلاغ عن أي حالات تمثل اعتداءً على البيئة أو الحياة الفطرية، وذلك بالاتصال بالرقم (911) بمناطق مكة المكرمة والمدينة المنورة والرياض والشرقية، و(999) و(996) في بقية مناطق المملكة، وستعامل جميع البلاغات بسرية تامة دون أدنى مسؤولية على المبلّغ.
The field patrols of the Special Forces for Environmental Security, while carrying out their duties in enforcing the Environmental Law in the Medina region, managed to arrest (3) citizens and a resident of Pakistani nationality, namely Talal Sont Al-Suhaili, Hamid Sont Al-Suhaili, Khalil Mahdi Al-Suhaili, and Faisal Al-Rahar Bakhsh, for committing an offense of hunting an endangered species, the "Arabian wolf." They were found in possession of a shotgun, an air rifle, and (70) assorted ammunition. They were detained, and legal procedures were taken against them, and they were referred to the competent authority.
The Special Forces for Environmental Security emphasized the importance of adhering to the Environmental Law and its executive regulations, which prohibit the hunting of wild animals. They confirmed that the penalty for hunting endangered species can reach up to (10) years in prison and a fine of up to (10) million, or one of these penalties. The penalty for hunting the Arabian wolf is a fine of (80,000) riyals, and the penalty for using shotguns in hunting is a fine of (100,000) riyals.
They urged the public to report any cases representing an attack on the environment or wildlife by calling (911) in the regions of Makkah, Medina, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and (999) and (996) in the rest of the Kingdom's regions. All reports will be treated with complete confidentiality, with no liability on the reporter.
