هلا التويجري: «حقوق الإنسان» في «المناهج الدراسية» قريباً

Dr. Hala Al-Tuwaijri, President of the Human Rights Commission, revealed the signing of an agreement with the Ministry of Education, explaining that the Commission is a member of the "Curricula" program.

Al-Tuwaijri said: "We participate in developing educational curricula in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, and we have a future project regarding contributing to the development of some general university courses."

The Editor-in-Chief of "Okaz" newspaper, General Supervisor of "Saudi Gazette" Jamil Al-Dhiabi, received Dr. Hala Al-Tuwaijri and her accompanying delegation in his office, in the presence of General Director Abdullah Al-Hassoun and several leaders of the newspaper. They discussed many human rights issues and the qualitative leap that the Kingdom has achieved in the field of human rights and its development of the legislative system, which has helped build a solid legal framework that protects and promotes human rights.

Al-Tuwaijri clarified, in a meeting with the leaders and writers of "Okaz," that the strategic objectives are clear and derived from the directives of the leadership, adding: We have specialized agencies in services, and this is the role assigned to us.

She emphasized by saying: We have learned from Vision "2030" how to pay attention to details and create impact, and we at the Commission have roles that specialize in protecting the human right to life, through legal research and studies that enhance human rights and ensure that what we provide meets the standards required by each entity to answer the question: What is the human right to freedom? She pointed out that human rights are an indivisible whole, as one cannot grant the right to freedom of expression while depriving someone of security, indicating that human rights are a fundamental issue in the world; for example, the right to security and health does not contradict the right to food or women's empowerment.

She noted that human rights in the United Nations are clear and well-known, and Islamic law has clarified this, and we are part of this world, so we must have tools within it.

She stated: The issue of women's driving has become a thing of the past.

Writers from "Okaz," including Abdu Khal, Khalid Al-Sulaiman, Hamoud Abu Talib, Mohammed Al-Sa'id, Firas Tarablsi, and Ahmed Al-Jumai'a, raised many important issues and topics, including how the Commission defends the Kingdom before the world. Al-Tuwaijri responded by saying: "We do not defend; our message to the world is that we are a country that loves peace and promotes peace, and our primary goal is the development of our people, and we are making all reforms to enhance development and empower the citizen."

During her visit to the Okaz Foundation for Press and Publishing today (Wednesday), she praised the successes achieved by "Okaz" and "Saudi Gazette" and their distinction and leadership.

Al-Tuwaijri discussed with several leaders and writers of the newspaper a number of human rights issues that concern Saudi society. The meeting was attended by several leaders of the Commission, including the Commission's Deputy for Planning and Governance Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Ghanem, General Director of the General Administration for Institutional Communication at the Commission Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Jahani, Director of the Commission's branch in the Makkah region Zaydi Al-Ruwaili, and the private secretary to the President of the Commission Naif bin Sultan bin Hussein.

Al-Tuwaijri and her accompanying delegation toured the newspaper's departments and reviewed the workflow in the institution.
