التقى وزير السياحة أحمد عقيل الخطيب نظيره الياباني وزير الأراضي والبنية التحتية والنقل والسياحة هيرومسا ناكانو، في طوكيو، على هامش الزيارة للجناح السعودي في إكسبو 2025 أوساكا.
ووجه الخطيب خلال اللقاء دعوة رسمية للحكومة اليابانية، وقادة قطاع السياحة للمشاركة في أعمال الدورة الـ26 للجمعية العامة لمنظمة السياحة العالمية، وكذلك في النسخة الافتتاحية لمنتدى TOURISE، المقرر عقدهما في الرياض خلال شهر نوفمبر القادم، إذ تعكس كلتا الفعاليتين العالميتين دور المملكة بصفتها محركاً للتعاون الدولي والابتكار السياحي.
واستهل وزير السياحة جولته في إكسبو 2025 أوساكا بزيارة الجناح السعودي الذي استعرض ما تقدمه السعودية من مقومات سياحية عالمية، والتزامها بالاستدامة والابتكار والتعاون الدولي.
كما شملت الجولة أجنحة اليابان، وإسبانيا، ما أسهم في تعزيز الروابط الدبلوماسية والسياحية مع هذه الدول.
وشكل حفل التواصل الخاص بمنتدى TOURISE أحد أبرز محطات الزيارة، إذ التقى الخطيب بمجموعة مؤثرة من الشركاء الحكوميين اليابانيين وقادة القطاع الخاص وكبار المستثمرين.
وسلط الحدث الضوء على منصة TOURISE، كما دعا الشركاء اليابانيين للعب دور محوري في النسخة الافتتاحية للمنتدى، والجمعية العامة لمنظمة السياحة العالمية في الرياض.
وقال وزير السياحة أحمد الخطيب: «إن تحول المملكة في قطاع السياحة مصدر فخر للعالم العربي ونموذج ملهم للقطاع العالمي، ووجودنا في أوساكا وشراكتنا مع اليابان يجسدان كيف تفتح رؤية المملكة 2030 آفاقاً جديدة للاستثمار وبناء جسور بين الثقافات ونستعد لاستضافة قادة السياحة العالميين في الرياض، وندعو شركاءنا في اليابان والعالم للإسهام في رسم مستقبل السياحة القائم على الابتكار والاستدامة والازدهار المشترك».
وأضاف الخطيب: تعد المملكة الوجهة السياحية الأسرع نمواً عالمياً، إذ تعتمد في نهجها على استثمارات تتجاوز الـ800 مليار دولار، في مشاريع كبرى مثل: نيوم، البحر الأحمر، والدرعية، إلى جانب مشاريعها المتواصلة لتطوير البنى التحتية، إذ من المنتظر أن تسفر هذه الجهود مجتمعة عن تحقيق مستهدف استقطاب 150 مليون زائر بحلول 2030، وتجلى هذا الزخم في إكسبو 2025 أوساكا من خلال العروض الثقافية، والاجتماعات المؤثرة.
بدوره، أكد سفير خادم الحرمين الشريفين لدى اليابان المفوض العام لجناح المملكة في إكسبو 2025 أوساكا الدكتور غازي فيصل بن زقر إعجاب الزوار اليابانيين الكبير بجناح المملكة واهتمامهم العميق بالتعرف على ثقافة وزيارة السعودية، مبيناً إسهامات كل لقاء بنّاء، في تعزيز جسور التواصل بين الثقافتين السعودية واليابانية، والتطلع إلى استقبال الزوار من مختلف أنحاء العالم، ليعيشوا تجربة الضيافة السعودية الأصيلة، ويتعرفوا عن قرب على غنى الثقافة والتنوع السياحي العالمي.
من جانبه، قال الرئيس التنفيذي للهيئة السعودية للسياحة نائب رئيس منتدى TOURISE فهد بن حميد الدين: «المملكة تعيد رسم ملامح السياحة ليس على المستوى الوطني فحسب، بل الإقليمي والعالمي، ونبني من خلال منتدى TOURISE منصة عالمية للشراكات المبتكرة والاستثمار المميز، إذ سيشهد العالم هذا التحول في الرياض نوفمبر القادم، بمشاركة قادة من جميع القارات لرسم مسار جديد للسياحة، وستكون مشاركة اليابان جزءاً أساسياً من هذه الرؤية».

وفاز جناح السعودية بالجائزة الذهبية ضمن جوائز نيويورك للتصميم المعماري عن فئة العمارة الثقافية -المساحات التفاعلية والتجريبيةـ تقديراً لتميّز تصميمه الذي يعكس روح الثقافة السعودية.
ويُبرز الجناح التحول الكبير الذي تشهده المملكة في إطار رؤية المملكة 2030، مع التركيز على الاستدامة والابتكار والتعاون الدولي.
ومنذ افتتاحه، استقبل الجناح مليوني زائر ليصبح من بين الأجنحة الأكثر جذباً، بما يعزز مكانة المملكة بصفتها وجهة سياحية عالمية.
Tourism Minister Ahmed Aqeel Al-Khateeb met with his Japanese counterpart, Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism, Hiromasa Nakano, in Tokyo, on the sidelines of the visit to the Saudi pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka.
During the meeting, Al-Khateeb extended an official invitation to the Japanese government and tourism sector leaders to participate in the 26th session of the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization, as well as in the inaugural edition of the TOURISE Forum, scheduled to be held in Riyadh next November. Both global events reflect the Kingdom's role as a driver of international cooperation and tourism innovation.
The Minister of Tourism began his tour at Expo 2025 Osaka by visiting the Saudi pavilion, which showcased what Saudi Arabia offers in terms of global tourism components, along with its commitment to sustainability, innovation, and international cooperation.
The tour also included visits to the pavilions of Japan and Spain, contributing to the strengthening of diplomatic and tourism ties with these countries.
The special networking event for the TOURISE Forum was one of the highlights of the visit, where Al-Khateeb met with a significant group of influential Japanese government partners, private sector leaders, and major investors.
The event highlighted the TOURISE platform and invited Japanese partners to play a pivotal role in the inaugural edition of the forum and the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization in Riyadh.
Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Khateeb stated: "The Kingdom's transformation in the tourism sector is a source of pride for the Arab world and an inspiring model for the global sector. Our presence in Osaka and our partnership with Japan embody how Vision 2030 opens new horizons for investment and builds bridges between cultures. We are preparing to host global tourism leaders in Riyadh, and we invite our partners in Japan and around the world to contribute to shaping the future of tourism based on innovation, sustainability, and shared prosperity."
Al-Khateeb added: "The Kingdom is the fastest-growing tourist destination globally, relying on investments exceeding $800 billion in major projects such as NEOM, the Red Sea, and Diriyah, alongside its ongoing projects to develop infrastructure. These combined efforts are expected to achieve the target of attracting 150 million visitors by 2030, and this momentum was evident at Expo 2025 Osaka through cultural presentations and impactful meetings."
For his part, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Japan and the Commissioner General of the Kingdom's pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Dr. Ghazi Faisal bin Zaqr, confirmed the significant admiration of Japanese visitors for the Kingdom's pavilion and their deep interest in learning about and visiting Saudi Arabia, indicating that each constructive meeting contributes to strengthening the bridges of communication between Saudi and Japanese cultures, looking forward to welcoming visitors from around the world to experience authentic Saudi hospitality and get to know the richness of culture and global tourism diversity up close.
Meanwhile, Fahd bin Hamid Al-Din, CEO of the Saudi Tourism Authority and Vice President of the TOURISE Forum, said: "The Kingdom is redefining the landscape of tourism not only at the national level but also regionally and globally. Through the TOURISE Forum, we are building a global platform for innovative partnerships and exceptional investment. The world will witness this transformation in Riyadh next November, with the participation of leaders from all continents to chart a new course for tourism, and Japan's participation will be an essential part of this vision."
