عقد الرئيس التنفيذي للهيئة العامة للغذاء والدواء الدكتور هشام بن سعد الجضعي لقاءات مع مسؤولين في جهات علمية وأكاديمية أمريكية، وذلك على هامش مشاركته في الاجتماع السنوي الحادي والأربعين للجمعية الدولية لعلم الوبائيات الدوائية، وجاءت هذه اللقاءات في إطار حرص الهيئة على تعزيز سبل التعاون وتبادل الخبرات بما يسهم في دعم مكانتها العلمية والتنظيمية.
وخلال زيارته جامعة جون هوبكنز، التقى عميدة كلية بلومبرغ للصحة العامة البروفيسور كيشا بورتر، وعدداً من الأساتذة، جرى خلالها استعراض التجارب المتقدمة للكلية في مجال الدراسات السريرية، واستخدام التقنيات الحديثة والأدوات الرقمية لدعم سلامة الأدوية، إضافة إلى تسليط الضوء على تطبيقات الذكاء الاصطناعي في العلوم التنظيمية والوقائية.
واجتمع مع مديرة كلية تراختنبرغ للسياسات العامة والإدارة بجامعة جورج واشنطن البروفيسور كاثرين نيوكومر، حيث جرى مناقشة عدد من الموضوعات المتعلقة بالسياسات العامة والتحديات التنظيمية، إلى جانب قضايا الصحة والأدوية وأنظمة الغذاء، بما يفتح آفاقاً جديدة للتعاون الأكاديمي والبحثي.
وأكد الدكتور الجضعي خلال اللقاءات أن "الغذاء والدواء" تولي اهتماما كبيرا بتعزيز شراكاتها مع المؤسسات الأكاديمية، مشدداً على أن الهيئة تعتمد في قراراتها التنظيمية على أسس علمية راسخة تدعمها الأبحاث والدراسات المتخصصة، موضحاً أن هذه الجهود تأتي انسجاماً مع مستهدفات برنامج تحول القطاع الصحي، أحد برامج رؤية المملكة 2030، الهادفة إلى تطوير منظومة صحية أكثر كفاءة وابتكاراً.
The CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, Dr. Hisham bin Saad Al-Jadhai, held meetings with officials from American scientific and academic institutions during his participation in the 41st Annual Meeting of the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology. These meetings were part of the Authority's commitment to enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise to support its scientific and regulatory standing.
During his visit to Johns Hopkins University, he met with the Dean of the Bloomberg School of Public Health, Professor Keshia Porter, along with several faculty members. They reviewed the advanced experiences of the school in the field of clinical studies, the use of modern technologies and digital tools to support drug safety, and highlighted the applications of artificial intelligence in regulatory and preventive sciences.
He also met with the Director of the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration at George Washington University, Professor Katherine Newcomer, where they discussed several topics related to public policy and regulatory challenges, as well as issues concerning health, pharmaceuticals, and food systems, opening new horizons for academic and research collaboration.
Dr. Al-Jadhai emphasized during the meetings that the "Food and Drug Authority" places great importance on enhancing its partnerships with academic institutions, stressing that the Authority's regulatory decisions are based on solid scientific foundations supported by specialized research and studies. He clarified that these efforts align with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program, one of the programs of Saudi Vision 2030, aimed at developing a more efficient and innovative health system.
