تستضيف الهيئة العامة للغذاء والدواء، فعالية هاكاثون «نبتكر لسلامة الأغذية» (Hack for Safer Plate)، بالتعاون مع منظمة الأغذية والزراعة للأمم المتحدة «الفاو»، وذلك يومي الثلاثاء والأربعاء 9 - 10 سبتمبر القادم، في مقر الهيئة الرئيسي بمدينة الرياض.
وتأتي هذه الفعالية استكمالًا لمساعي «الغذاء والدواء» في تمكين الابتكار وبناء حلول تسهم في تعزيز سلامة المنظومة الغذائية وانطلاقًا من دورها الريادي عالميًا في هذا المجال.
ويهدف الحدث إلى تطوير حلول تقنية متقدمة لمواجهة أبرز التحديات المرتبطة بسلامة الغذاء في منطقة الشرق الأدنى وشمال أفريقيا (NENA)، عبر ثلاثة محاور رئيسية تشمل، تتبع سلسلة الإمداد الغذائي والتحذير المبكر وسرعة الاستجابة لرصد المخاطر والحد من الفاقد والمهدر من الغذاء.
وسيحظى المشاركون بفرصة الفوز بجوائز والانضمام إلى برنامج احتضان متخصص يمتد لستة أشهر لدعم المشاريع الفائزة وتطويرها، مع إتاحة عرض أفكارهم أمام المجتمع العلمي العالمي ضمن منتدى العلوم والابتكار التابع لـ«الفاو»، والمقرر عقده في العاصمة الإيطالية روما خلال أكتوبر القادم.
ويُعد الهاكاثون منصة تفاعلية تجمع المبتكرين والباحثين في مجال سلامة الغذاء، وتتيح تبادل المعرفة ومناقشة أفضل الممارسات في هذا القطاع الحيوي، كما يجسد جانبًا من التعاون المستمر بين «الغذاء والدواء» و«الفاو» في توظيف تقنيات البيانات والذكاء الاصطناعي لتعزيز سلامة الغذاء ودعم الحلول الابتكارية التي ترتقي بالممارسات الغذائية محليًا وإقليميًا.
The Saudi Food and Drug Authority is hosting the "Hack for Safer Plate" hackathon in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 9-10, at the Authority's headquarters in Riyadh.
This event comes as a continuation of the efforts of the Food and Drug Authority to empower innovation and build solutions that contribute to enhancing the safety of the food system, reflecting its global leadership role in this field.
The event aims to develop advanced technological solutions to address the key challenges related to food safety in the Near East and North Africa (NENA) region, through three main axes: tracking the food supply chain, early warning, and rapid response to risk monitoring, as well as reducing food loss and waste.
Participants will have the opportunity to win prizes and join a specialized six-month incubation program to support and develop the winning projects, with the chance to present their ideas to the global scientific community at the FAO's Science and Innovation Forum, scheduled to be held in the Italian capital, Rome, in October.
The hackathon serves as an interactive platform that brings together innovators and researchers in the field of food safety, allowing for knowledge exchange and discussion of best practices in this vital sector. It also embodies the ongoing collaboration between the Food and Drug Authority and the FAO in leveraging data technologies and artificial intelligence to enhance food safety and support innovative solutions that elevate food practices locally and regionally.
