افتتح وزير الشؤون الإسلامية والدعوة والإرشاد المشرف العام على مسابقة القرآن الكريم المحلية والدولية الشيخ الدكتور عبداللطيف بن عبدالعزيز آل الشيخ، اليوم، التصفيات النهائية لمسابقة الملك عبدالعزيز الدولية لحفظ القرآن الكريم وتلاوته وتفسيره في دورتها الـ45، التي تنظمها الوزارة برعاية كريمة من خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز -حفظه الله- في رحاب المسجد الحرام، بمشاركة 179 متسابقاً يمثلون 128 دولة من مختلف قارات العالم، وتستمر التصفيات 6 أيام على فترتين صباحية ومسائية، ويشارك في تحكيمها نخبة من المحكمين الدوليين.
وألقى الوزير كلمة في الحفل الافتتاحي رحّب فيها بالحضور والمشاركين، مؤكداً أن من أعظم نعم الله على المملكة العربية السعودية أن شرفها بخدمة القرآن الكريم وتكريم حملته منذ عهد المؤسس الملك عبدالعزيز -طيب الله ثراه- وحتى عهد خادم الحرمين الشريفين وسمو ولي عهده الأمين -أيدهما الله.
وأوضح أن الوزارة تفخر بتنظيم هذه المسابقة العريقة التي يتنافس فيها المتسابقون على إتقان حفظ كتاب الله وتلاوته وتفسيره في أطهر بقاع الأرض، مستشهداً بقوله تعالى: «وفي ذلك فليتنافس المتنافسون».
وبيّن أن الوزارة وضعت معايير واضحة ومنهجية معلنة للتحكيم، تضمن العدالة والشفافية، واختارت نخبة من المحكمين من المملكة العربية السعودية، والمملكة المغربية، وجمهورية أوغندا، وجمهورية ألبانيا، مشيراً إلى أن مجموع جوائز المسابقة يبلغ 4 ملايين ريال، إضافة إلى مليون ريال توزع هدايا مالية على جميع المشاركين.
وفي ختام كلمته، دعا المولى عز وجل أن يتغمد الملك المؤسس بواسع رحمته، مقدماً الشكر والتقدير لخادم الحرمين الشريفين وسمو ولي عهده الأمين -حفظهما الله- على ما يقدمانه من دعم ورعاية لخدمة القرآن الكريم، كما دعا بالتوفيق للمحكمين والمتسابقين، معلناً انطلاق أعمال التصفيات النهائية، وعقب ذلك، استمعت لجنة التحكيم لعدد من تلاوات المشاركين في فروع المسابقة الخمسة، وسط حضور كبير من المشاركين والمرافقين ورواد المسجد الحرام، في أجواء إيمانية تعالت فيها أصوات المتسابقين بآيات كتاب الله الكريم.
يُذكر أن حفل الافتتاح حظي بتغطية إعلامية واسعة من القنوات المحلية والعالمية التي بثّت فعاليات المسابقة مباشرة، إذ هيأت الوزارة مركزاً إعلامياً متكاملاً لاستقبال الوفود الإعلامية، وتمكين القنوات من النقل المباشر طوال فترة المسابقة لإبراز هذا الحدث القرآني العالمي.
The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, and the General Supervisor of the Local and International Quran Competition, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdul Aziz Al Sheikh, today inaugurated the final qualifiers for the King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorizing, Reciting, and Interpreting the Quran in its 45th edition, organized by the ministry under the generous patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz - may God protect him - in the sacred precincts of the Grand Mosque, with the participation of 179 contestants representing 128 countries from various continents around the world. The qualifiers will last for 6 days in two sessions, morning and evening, with a distinguished panel of international judges participating in the evaluation.
The minister delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, welcoming the attendees and participants, emphasizing that one of the greatest blessings of God upon the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is that He has honored it with the service of the Quran and the honoring of its bearers since the era of the founder, King Abdulaziz - may God have mercy on him - until the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince - may God support them.
He explained that the ministry takes pride in organizing this prestigious competition, where contestants compete to master the memorization, recitation, and interpretation of the Book of God in the purest places on earth, citing the Almighty's words: "And in that let the competitors compete."
He indicated that the ministry has established clear and announced criteria and methodology for judging, ensuring fairness and transparency, and has selected a distinguished panel of judges from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Morocco, the Republic of Uganda, and the Republic of Albania, noting that the total prizes for the competition amount to 4 million riyals, in addition to one million riyals distributed as financial gifts to all participants.
At the end of his speech, he prayed to the Almighty to envelop the founding king in His vast mercy, expressing gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince - may God protect them - for their support and care for the service of the Quran. He also wished success to the judges and contestants, announcing the commencement of the final qualifiers. Following that, the judging panel listened to several recitations from the participants in the five branches of the competition, amidst a large presence of participants, companions, and visitors to the Grand Mosque, in a spiritual atmosphere where the voices of the contestants rose with verses from the Holy Quran.
It is noteworthy that the opening ceremony received extensive media coverage from local and international channels that broadcast the events of the competition live, as the ministry prepared a comprehensive media center to welcome media delegations and enable channels to broadcast live throughout the competition period to highlight this global Quranic event.
