استقبل أمير المنطقة الشرقية الأمير سعود بن نايف بن عبدالعزيز، أمس (الإثنين)، أمين عام لجنة السلامة المرورية بالمنطقة الشرقية عبدالله بن سعد الراجحي، يرافقه عدد من منسوبي اللجنة والجهات المشاركة.
وأكد أمير المنطقة الشرقية أن ما تحقق من تطور في مجال السلامة المرورية جاء بفضل المتابعة المستمرة والتوجيهات الحكيمة من القيادة الرشيدة التي تحرص على تعزيز جودة الحياة ورفع مستوى الأمان على الطرق، مشدداً بأهمية مواصلة التوعية لقائدي المركبات بأهمية الالتزام بأنظمة المرور، وتجنب المخالفات التي قد تؤدي إلى حوادث جسيمة لها آثار بالغة على الأرواح والممتلكات، داعيًا إلى تسخير التقنيات والأنظمة الحديثة لخفض نسب الحوادث وتعزيز السلامة.
وأشاد أمير المنطقة الشرقية بتفاعل المواطنين والمقيمين مع مبادرات ومخرجات لجنة السلامة المرورية، مما أسهم في تقليص الحوادث، مشيرًا إلى أن المرحلة القادمة ستشهد استخدام مركبات ذكية قد تُسهم في تقليل الحوادث، غير أن العامل البشري سيبقى محور التحكم، مما يتطلب الاستمرار في الجهود التوعوية. كما ثمّن جهود اللجنة، وحث على مواصلة تنفيذ خطتها الإستراتيجية للحد من الحوادث ورفع مستوى السلامة المرورية في المنطقة.
من جهته، أوضح أمين عام لجنة السلامة المرورية بالمنطقة الشرقية عبدالله الراجحي أن اللجنة نجحت في خفض معدل الوفيات بنسبة 72% لكل 100 ألف نسمة، وتقليص الإصابات البليغة بنسبة 76%، وذلك بفضل تكامل الأدوار بين الجهات وتضافر الجهود. كما ساهمت هذه الجهود في توفير ما يزيد على 10 مليارات ريال من التكاليف المرتبطة بالحوادث.
وأضاف الراجحي أن اللجنة تسعى من خلال إستراتيجيتها إلى مواصلة ريادة المنطقة في السلامة المرورية، وتحقيق المستهدفات الوطنية في معدلات الوفيات والإصابات البليغة بحلول عام 2030، بما يواكب أفضل الممارسات العالمية، وأشار إلى أن ما تحقق من منجزات جعل المنطقة الشرقية محل اهتمام العديد من المنظمات المحلية والدولية المعنية بالسلامة المرورية، وعلى رأسها منظمة الصحة العالمية، التي وثّقت جهود اللجنة في تقرير حول السلامة المرورية في المملكة ومنطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا، مبيناً أن المنطقة الشرقية حققت بنهاية عام 2024 المركز الأول بين مناطق المملكة بعد استيفائها 12 معيارًا من أصل 17 معيارًا وطنيًا في السلامة المرورية، شملت مجالات الهندسة المرورية، والضبط المروري، والتوعية، والتعليم، والاستجابة الطارئة، ضمن نموذج عمل تكاملي بقيادة أمير المنطقة الشرقية.
وأكد الراجحي أن المملكة تعيش تطوراً كبيراً في مجال السلامة المرورية، لافتًا إلى أن نسبة سلامة شبكة الطرق بلغت 80%، فيما بلغ معدل أمان التحويلات ومناطق العمل 95%، بالتوازي مع انخفاض ملحوظ في نسب الوفيات والإصابات حتى نهاية عام 2024، بفضل التحسينات المستمرة في البنية التحتية والدعم الذي توليه القيادة لهذا الملف الحيوي.
The Prince of the Eastern Province, Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, received yesterday (Monday) the Secretary-General of the Traffic Safety Committee in the Eastern Province, Abdullah bin Saad Al-Rajhi, accompanied by a number of committee members and participating entities.
The Prince of the Eastern Province affirmed that the progress achieved in the field of traffic safety is due to continuous follow-up and wise directives from the prudent leadership, which is keen on enhancing the quality of life and raising the level of safety on the roads. He emphasized the importance of continuing to educate vehicle drivers about the necessity of adhering to traffic regulations and avoiding violations that may lead to serious accidents with significant impacts on lives and property, calling for the utilization of modern technologies and systems to reduce accident rates and enhance safety.
The Prince of the Eastern Province praised the interaction of citizens and residents with the initiatives and outcomes of the Traffic Safety Committee, which contributed to reducing accidents. He pointed out that the upcoming phase will witness the use of smart vehicles that may help in reducing accidents; however, the human factor will remain the focal point of control, necessitating the continuation of awareness efforts. He also appreciated the committee's efforts and urged the continuation of implementing its strategic plan to reduce accidents and enhance traffic safety in the region.
For his part, the Secretary-General of the Traffic Safety Committee in the Eastern Province, Abdullah Al-Rajhi, explained that the committee has succeeded in reducing the mortality rate by 72% per 100,000 people and in decreasing severe injuries by 76%, thanks to the integration of roles among the entities and the collaboration of efforts. These efforts have also contributed to saving more than 10 billion riyals in costs associated with accidents.
Al-Rajhi added that the committee aims, through its strategy, to continue leading the region in traffic safety and to achieve national targets in mortality and severe injury rates by 2030, in line with the best global practices. He pointed out that the achievements made have made the Eastern Province a focus of interest for many local and international organizations concerned with traffic safety, foremost among them the World Health Organization, which documented the committee's efforts in a report on traffic safety in the Kingdom and the Middle East and North Africa. He indicated that by the end of 2024, the Eastern Province will have achieved first place among the regions of the Kingdom after meeting 12 out of 17 national standards in traffic safety, covering areas such as traffic engineering, traffic enforcement, awareness, education, and emergency response, within an integrated operational model led by the Prince of the Eastern Province.
Al-Rajhi confirmed that the Kingdom is experiencing significant developments in the field of traffic safety, noting that the safety rate of the road network has reached 80%, while the safety rate of diversions and work zones has reached 95%, alongside a noticeable decrease in mortality and injury rates by the end of 2024, thanks to continuous improvements in infrastructure and the support provided by the leadership for this vital file.
