«هيئة النقل»: إطلاق تجربة التوصيل الذاتي باستخدام مركبات ذاتية القيادة

Under the patronage of the Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, the Acting President of the Public Transport Authority, Dr. Rami bin Mohammed Al-Rami, the Public Transport Authority announced the launch of a trial operation for a delivery service using autonomous vehicles, as part of a strategic partnership between "Jahez" and "Roshn Group," at the Roshn waterfront in the business district.

On this occasion, Al-Rami emphasized that the transport and logistics system places great importance on accelerating the adoption of modern technologies in the sector, considering this trial an important step towards building an advanced transport system that supports smart cities and enhances quality of life.

The launch of the trial operation for the delivery service using autonomous vehicles represents an extension of the efforts of the transport and logistics system to adopt modern technologies in the sector, contributing to the development of an intelligent transport system that enhances quality of life and supports sustainability, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The trial aims to provide innovative and safe delivery solutions based on autonomous vehicles, which enhances the efficiency of logistics services and offers a modern technological experience within residential and commercial communities.

This initiative serves as a practical model for the integration of the public and private sectors in developing smart logistics services, embodying the Public Transport Authority's direction towards a more advanced and sustainable future.

This launch is an extension of adopting the latest technological solutions, as the Public Transport Authority inaugurated last week the first practical phase of autonomous vehicles for passenger transport in Riyadh, as part of a qualitative step to adopt the latest smart innovations in the transport sector.
