حصل جناح المملكة العربية السعودية المشارك في إكسبو 2025 أوساكا على تصنيف ويل (WELL) للصحة والسلامة؛ ليكون الجناح الدولي الوحيد الحاصل على هذه الشهادة في إكسبو 2025 أوساكا، حيث تسلّم سفير خادم الحرمين الشريفين لدى اليابان المفوض العام لجناح المملكة الدكتور غازي بن فيصل بن زقر الشهادة من نائب الرئيس الأول، ورئيس قسم آسيا والمحيط الهادئ في المعهد الدولي للمباني الصحية السيد جاك نونان، في حفل أقيم في الجناح السعودي، بحضور مدير جناح المملكة عادل فايز، ومدير العمليات والصيانة في الجناح بيان الحوطي.
وأكد سفير خادم الحرمين الشريفين لدى اليابان المفوض العام لجناح المملكة أن حصول الجناح على شهادة (WELL) يعكس الإبداع في تصميم الجناح المستدام، وتميّزه التشغيلي، مشيراً إلى أن دمج معايير ويل للمباني الصحية في عمليات مرافق الجناح وتشغيلها يُجسّد التزام جناح المملكة بتوفير أسس الصحة والسلامة للموظفين، فضلاً عن توفير تجربة لافتة للضيوف، عند زيارتهم للجناح، ويؤكّد التزام وضع الصحة والرفاهية في صلب إدارة عمليات الجناح السعودي.
ويُعدّ تصنيف الصحة والسلامة ضمن شهادة (WELL) معياراً معترفاً به عالمياً يركّز على تعزيز الصحة والرفاهية في البيئات المبنية، بالاستناد إلى البحوث العلمية الهادفة إلى تحسين الصحة البشرية عبر التدخلات التصميمية، والبروتوكولات والسياسات التشغيلية التي تعزز ثقافة الصحة والرفاهية، ويهدف هذا النظام إلى إنشاء مساحات تعزز الصحة والسعادة والإنتاجية، ويديره المعهد الدولي للمباني الصحية (IWBI) لضمان التقييم والتحقق المستقلين.
يُذكر أن جناح المملكة صُمم على يد شركة فوستر آند بارتنرز، وهو مستوحى من القرى السعودية التقليدية، ويتميز بسمات رئيسية أسهمت في حصوله على هذه الشهادة؛ إذ يدمج تصميمه الاستدامة في جميع أنحاء الموقع، ويتميز بالطاقة المتجددة، والمواد منخفضة الكربون، وواجهة مبتكرة مع ألواح حجرية خفيفة الوزن يمكن تفكيكها بسهولة، وإطار هيكلي قابل لإعادة الاستخدام يهدف إلى تقليل الأثر البيئي العام للجناح.
وتأتي هذه الشهادة في إطار تميّز جناح المملكة المشارك في إكسبو 2025 أوساكا، وتمثّلُ تأكيداً لتوافق الجناح مع المعايير العالمية للمباني المؤقتة من حيث تأثيرها في صحة شاغليها، وذلك في مختلف الفئات مثل جودة الهواء، وجودة المياه، والتغذية، والإنارة، واللياقة البدنية، والراحة، والصحة الذهنية.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's pavilion participating in Expo 2025 Osaka has received the WELL certification for health and safety, making it the only international pavilion to obtain this certification at Expo 2025 Osaka. The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Japan and the Commissioner General of the Kingdom's pavilion, Dr. Ghazi bin Faisal bin Zaqr, received the certificate from the Senior Vice President and Head of Asia and the Pacific at the International WELL Building Institute, Mr. Jack Noonan, at a ceremony held at the Saudi pavilion, attended by the Director of the Kingdom's pavilion, Adel Fayez, and the Operations and Maintenance Manager at the pavilion, Bayan Al-Hawti.
The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Japan and the Commissioner General of the Kingdom's pavilion confirmed that the pavilion's receipt of the WELL certification reflects creativity in the design of the sustainable pavilion and its operational excellence. He pointed out that integrating WELL standards for healthy buildings into the pavilion's facilities and operations embodies the Kingdom's commitment to providing the foundations of health and safety for employees, as well as offering a remarkable experience for guests when they visit the pavilion. This also emphasizes the commitment to placing health and well-being at the core of the management of the Saudi pavilion's operations.
The health and safety classification within the WELL certification is a globally recognized standard that focuses on enhancing health and well-being in built environments, based on scientific research aimed at improving human health through design interventions, operational protocols, and policies that promote a culture of health and well-being. This system aims to create spaces that enhance health, happiness, and productivity, and is managed by the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) to ensure independent assessment and verification.
It is noteworthy that the Kingdom's pavilion was designed by Foster and Partners, inspired by traditional Saudi villages. It features key attributes that contributed to its receipt of this certification; its design integrates sustainability throughout the site, showcasing renewable energy, low-carbon materials, and an innovative façade with lightweight stone panels that can be easily dismantled, along with a reusable structural framework aimed at reducing the overall environmental impact of the pavilion.
This certification comes as part of the excellence of the Kingdom's pavilion participating in Expo 2025 Osaka, representing a confirmation of the pavilion's alignment with global standards for temporary buildings regarding their impact on the health of their occupants, across various categories such as air quality, water quality, nutrition, lighting, fitness, comfort, and mental health.
