كشفت أمانة الطائف لـ«عكاظ»، سحب مشروع تطوير متنزه النقبة الحمراء بالهدا؛ بسبب إخلال المستثمر بشروط التعاقد. وأكد مدير العلاقات والإعلام بأمانة الطائف فايز الثبيتي، أن قرار السحب تم وفق نظام التصرف بالعقارات البلدية، وكشف توجه الأمانة لإشراك القطاع الخاص مجدداً في تنفيذ وتطوير المشروع، عبر إقامة مرافق ترفيهية وترويحية وأنشطة تفاعلية متنوعة، مع الاستفادة من الطبيعة الجبلية الفريدة للموقع، وتوفير خدمات سياحية جاذبة للزوار طوال العام، وذلك في إطار إستراتيجيتها لاستكمال المنظومة السياحية في الهدا، وتنمية الاستثمارات البلدية، وتعزيز الاستدامة، وخلق فرص جديدة للاستثمار.
ويُعد متنزه النقبة الحمراء من أبرز المشاريع السياحية والترفيهية التي تم طرحها للاستثمار في 2020م، على إحدى مؤسسات القطاع الخاص المتخصصة، ويقع المشروع على مساحة 160 ألف م2 ويضم متحفاً وألعاباً وفندقاً وبحيرة على مساحة 7000م2، وحديقة للطيور ومعرض الورد وقرية ثلجية ومواقف للسيارات.
يشار إلى أن المتنزه ظل مغلقًا لسنوات، وكانت «عكاظ» نشرت في 2018م، تقريراً بعنوان «من أذاب المدينة الثلجية في الطائف؟»، تناول تعثر تطوير المشروع.

The Taif Municipality revealed to "Okaz" that the development project for the Al-Nuqbah Al-Hamra Park in Al-Hada has been withdrawn due to the investor's breach of contract terms. The Director of Relations and Media at the Taif Municipality, Fayez Al-Thubaiti, confirmed that the withdrawal decision was made in accordance with the municipal real estate disposal system. He also revealed the municipality's intention to involve the private sector again in executing and developing the project by establishing recreational and entertainment facilities and various interactive activities, while benefiting from the unique mountainous nature of the site and providing attractive tourism services for visitors throughout the year. This is part of its strategy to complete the tourism system in Al-Hada, develop municipal investments, enhance sustainability, and create new investment opportunities.
The Al-Nuqbah Al-Hamra Park is considered one of the most prominent tourism and entertainment projects that was offered for investment in 2020 to a specialized private sector institution. The project covers an area of 160,000 square meters and includes a museum, games, a hotel, a lake covering 7,000 square meters, a bird park, a flower exhibition, a snow village, and parking spaces.
It is worth noting that the park has remained closed for years, and "Okaz" published a report in 2018 titled "Who Melted the Snow City in Taif?" addressing the stalled development of the project.
