The Ministry of Education will close next Saturday the work of the fourth and final phase of the National Unified Admission Platform (Qabul) for male and female high school graduates to study in universities and colleges, which includes additional opportunities. A number of parents of students expressed their desire to extend the additional opportunities until the actual start date of the new academic year at the beginning of the month of Rabi' al-Awwal this year.

They told "Okaz": The extension could provide new admission seats due to the possibility of accepting a large number in several sectors, including military colleges across their various sectors and specialized medical colleges affiliated with several ministries. They pointed out that extending the platform's work will not have a direct impact on those whose acceptance in their first choices has been confirmed.

They added that the platform is a distinctive step in the field of admitting high school graduates this year and has provided study seats according to the weighted averages of students. They noted that setting a duration of 10 days for additional opportunities is insufficient due to the potential availability of new seats for those who were not accepted because of the lack of a final announcement regarding those accepted into military colleges.
