جدّدت الدول الأعضاء في معهد المواصفات والمقاييس للدول الإسلامية (SMIIC) ثقتها في المملكة العربية السعودية، بانتخابها رئيساً لمجلس إدارة المعهد للمرة الثالثة على التوالي (2025-2027)، وذلك خلال الاجتماع الـ29 لمجلس إدارة المعهد، الذي تستضيفه المدينة المنورة، بمشاركة ممثلين من 13 دولة.
ويؤكد انتخاب المملكة مجدّداً مكانتها الرائدة في قيادة جهود التقييس في العالم الإسلامي، ودورها الفاعل في ترسيخ التعاون الفني، وتعزيز البنية التحتية للجودة بما يخدم التجارة البينية ويُسهم في دعم النمو الاقتصادي للدول الأعضاء.
وأعرب محافظ الهيئة السعودية للمواصفات والمقاييس والجودة الدكتور سعد عثمان القصبي، عن اعتزازه بهذه الثقة، مشدّداً على التزام المملكة بمواصلة دعم جهود معهد (SMIIC)، وتعزيز العمل الفني المشترك، من خلال تطوير المنظومة التشريعية والفنية لأنشطة التقييس، بما يواكب تطلعات الدول الإسلامية ويُحقق مصالحها المشتركة.
وتُعدُّ رئاسة المملكة للمعهد امتداداً لدورها الريادي في المنظمات الدولية والإقليمية المعنية بالمواصفات والجودة، كما تعكس قدرتها على قيادة المبادرات التي تعزز من موقع المنتجات الإسلامية في الأسواق العالمية.

The member states of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) have renewed their trust in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by electing it as the President of the Institute's Board of Directors for the third consecutive time (2025-2027) during the 29th meeting of the Institute's Board of Directors, hosted in Medina, with the participation of representatives from 13 countries.
This election reaffirms the Kingdom's leading position in spearheading standardization efforts in the Islamic world and its active role in establishing technical cooperation and enhancing the quality infrastructure to serve inter-trade and contribute to supporting the economic growth of member states.
Dr. Saad Othman Al-Qasabi, Governor of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, expressed his pride in this trust, emphasizing the Kingdom's commitment to continue supporting the efforts of the SMIIC and enhancing joint technical work by developing the legislative and technical framework for standardization activities, in line with the aspirations of Islamic countries and achieving their common interests.
The Kingdom's presidency of the Institute is an extension of its pioneering role in international and regional organizations concerned with standards and quality, and it reflects its ability to lead initiatives that enhance the position of Islamic products in global markets.
