أعلنت وزارة الصناعة والثروة المعدنية تخصيص مواقع لإقامة 7 مجمعات تعدينية في مناطق الرياض، ومكة المكرمة، وعسير، والباحة؛ سعياً منها لتطوير البيئة الاستثمارية التعدينية في المملكة، وتعزيز شفافيتها وجاذبيتها للمستثمرين.
وأوضح المتحدث باسم وزارة الصناعة والثروة المعدنية جراح بن محمد الجراح أن المواقع المخصصة للأنشطة التعدينية شملت 4 مواقع في منطقة الرياض، هي مجمع «تمير 2» بمحافظة المجمعة على مساحة (1.99) كيلومتر مربع، ومجمع محافظة عفيف بمساحة (10.38) كيلومتر مربع، ومجمع الطيري بمحافظة رماح الذي تغطي مساحته (37.88) كيلومتر مربع، ومجمع «محافظة الدوادمي 6»، الذي تبلغ مساحته (30.62) كيلومتر مربع.
وبيّن الجراح أن الوزارة خصصت في منطقة مكة المكرمة موقعاً لإقامة مجمع شرق فيضة المسلح للأنشطة التعدينية بمحافظة الطائف بمساحة (25.0089) كيلومتر مربع، فيما خصصت في منطقة عسير موقعاً لتوسعة مجمع الهضبة والقرائن بمحافظة بيشة، بزيادة مساحته الإجمالية لتصبح (72.78) كيلومتر مربع، بينما خصصت في منطقة الباحة موقعاً لإقامة مجمع شمال وادي الحجرة بمحافظة الحجرة وتغطي مساحته (0.66) كيلومتر مربع.
وأكّد المتحدث باسم وزارة الصناعة والثروة المعدنية أن إقامة المجمعات التعدينية يعزز مبادئ الحوكمة في قطاع التعدين، ويزيد من شفافيته، ويرفع ثقة المستثمرين فيه، ويسهم في حماية مواقع التعدين من التعديات غير النظامية، كما يؤدي دوراً مهماً في تحقيق عناصر الاستدامة بالمشروعات التعدينية، مشيراً إلى الاهتمام الذي توليه الوزارة بالمحافظة على البيئة والصحة والسلامة المهنية، وتحفيز المجتمعات المحلية على المشاركة في مسارات نمو قطاع التعدين وفقاً لنظام الاستثمار التعديني.
وتُسهم المجمعات التعدينية في تنمية المناطق المجاورة لها، من خلال توظيف أبناء هذه المناطق في مشروعات التعدين، ورفع نسبة عمليات الشراء من الأسواق المحلية، ووضع خطط للتواصل الفعَّال في المنطقة المحيطة بالمشروع، ورفع مستوى الامتثال للاشتراطات البيئية اللازمة في مواقع الأنشطة التعدينية والمجتمعات المحيطة بها، وإعادة التأهيل والإغلاق للمواقع التعدينية.
The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources announced the allocation of sites for the establishment of 7 mining complexes in the regions of Riyadh, Makkah, Asir, and Al-Baha; in an effort to develop the mining investment environment in the Kingdom and enhance its transparency and attractiveness to investors.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, Jirrah bin Mohammed Al-Jirrah, explained that the sites designated for mining activities included 4 locations in the Riyadh region, namely the "Tamir 2" complex in Al-Majma'ah Governorate covering an area of (1.99) square kilometers, the Al-Afeef Governorate complex with an area of (10.38) square kilometers, the Al-Tayri complex in Al-Rumah Governorate covering an area of (37.88) square kilometers, and the "Al-Dawadmi 6" complex, which has an area of (30.62) square kilometers.
Al-Jirrah indicated that the ministry allocated a site in the Makkah region for the establishment of the East Faidah Al-Musallam complex for mining activities in Taif Governorate, covering an area of (25.0089) square kilometers, while in the Asir region, a site was allocated for the expansion of the Al-Hadabah and Al-Qura'in complex in Bisha Governorate, increasing its total area to (72.78) square kilometers. In the Al-Baha region, a site was allocated for the establishment of the North Wadi Al-Hajrah complex in Al-Hajrah Governorate, covering an area of (0.66) square kilometers.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources confirmed that the establishment of mining complexes enhances governance principles in the mining sector, increases its transparency, boosts investor confidence, and helps protect mining sites from illegal encroachments. It also plays an important role in achieving sustainability elements in mining projects, noting the ministry's commitment to preserving the environment and occupational health and safety, and encouraging local communities to participate in the growth paths of the mining sector in accordance with the mining investment system.
The mining complexes contribute to the development of the surrounding areas by employing local residents in mining projects, increasing the percentage of purchases from local markets, establishing effective communication plans in the area surrounding the project, enhancing compliance with the necessary environmental requirements at mining activity sites and their surrounding communities, and rehabilitating and closing mining sites.
