أكَّد المستشار بالديوان الملكي المشرف العام على مركز الملك سلمان للإغاثة والأعمال الإنسانية رئيس الفريق الطبي والجراحي للبرنامج السعودي للتوائم الملتصقة الدكتور عبدالله بن عبدالعزيز الربيعة، استقرار حالة التوأم الملتصق السعودي (يارا ولارا) بعد 4 أيام من إجراء عملية فصلهما الناجحة بمستشفى الملك عبدالله التخصصي للأطفال في مدينة الملك عبدالعزيز الطبية للحرس الوطني بالرياض.
وقال في تصريح لوكالة الأنباء السعودية: «إنه -بفضل الله تعالى- أصبحت جميع المؤشرات الحيوية للتوأم طبيعية وما زالتا تخضعان للتنفس الاصطناعي في غرفة العناية المركزة»، مشيراً إلى أن الأمعاء -ولله الحمد- بدأت باستعادة نشاطها بعد العملية، وسيتم تدريجياً إدخال الطعام من خلال أنبوب متصل من الأنف إلى المعدة ليتم تقديم الغذاء اللازم لهما.
وأوضح أن التوأم تخضعان للمتابعة الدقيقة ويتم إعطاؤهما المضادات الحيوية لمنع الالتهابات، مبيناً أن حالة الجروح جيدة، وأنه من المحتمل أن يتم رفع التنفس الاصطناعي عن التوأم خلال الأيام الأربعة القادمة بمشيئة الله.
يذكر أن التوأم كانتا تلتصقان في أسفل البطن والحوض والجزء السفلي للأمعاء الدقيقة والقولون والجهاز البولي والتناسلي وتشتركان كذلك في عظمة الحوض، وتم إجراء عملية جراحية معقدة لفصلهما يوم الخميس 22 محرم الجاري الموافق 17 يوليو الجاري، واستغرقت (12.5) ساعة، تكللت -ولله الحمد- بالنجاح التام، ونُفِّذت على (9) مراحل، وشارك فيها فريق طبي مكوّن من (38) من الاستشاريين والمتخصصين في التخدير، وجراحة الأطفال، والمسالك البولية للأطفال، والتجميل والعظام، والكوادر التمريضية والفنية.
The advisor at the Royal Court and the general supervisor of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Works, head of the medical and surgical team for the Saudi program for conjoined twins, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, confirmed the stability of the condition of the Saudi conjoined twins (Yara and Lara) after 4 days of their successful separation surgery at King Abdullah Specialist Children's Hospital in King Abdulaziz Medical City for the National Guard in Riyadh.
He stated in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency: "Thanks to God Almighty, all vital signs for the twins have become normal, and they are still on mechanical ventilation in the intensive care unit," noting that the intestines have, thank God, begun to regain their activity after the surgery, and food will gradually be introduced through a tube connected from the nose to the stomach to provide them with the necessary nutrition.
He explained that the twins are under close monitoring and are being given antibiotics to prevent infections, indicating that the condition of the wounds is good, and it is likely that mechanical ventilation will be removed from the twins within the next four days, God willing.
It is worth mentioning that the twins were conjoined at the lower abdomen and pelvis, as well as the lower part of the small intestine, colon, urinary, and reproductive systems, and they also shared a pelvic bone. A complex surgical operation was performed to separate them on Thursday, the 22nd of Muharram, corresponding to July 17th, which lasted (12.5) hours and was, thank God, completely successful. The operation was carried out in (9) stages, with a medical team consisting of (38) consultants and specialists in anesthesia, pediatric surgery, pediatric urology, plastic surgery, orthopedics, and nursing and technical staff.
