إنفاذاً لتوجيهات خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، وولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، بدأ الفريق الطبي التابع للبرنامج السعودي للتوائم الملتصقة صباح اليوم عملية فصل التوأم الملتصق السعودي «يارا ولارا» وعمرهما (7) أشهر، وذلك في مستشفى الملك عبدالله التخصصي للأطفال بمدينة الملك عبدالعزيز الطبية بوزارة الحرس الوطني في مدينة الرياض.
وأوضح المستشار بالديوان الملكي المشرف العام على مركز الملك سلمان للإغاثة والأعمال الإنسانية رئيس الفريق الطبي والجراحي التابع للبرنامج السعودي للتوائم الملتصقة الدكتور عبدالله بن عبدالعزيز الربيعة في تصريح صحفي أن التوأم السعودي الملتصق «يارا ولارا» ولدتا في (5 / 11 / 2024)ووصل وزنهما مجتمعاً (10) كيلوغرامات، ولكل منهما أطراف علوية وسفلية مستقلة، كما أن الفريق الطبي أجرى فحوصات دقيقة وعقد عدة اجتماعات وقرر إمكانية فصلهما.
وأردف أن التوأم تشتركان في منطقة أسفل البطن والحوض وفي أسفل القولون والمستقيم، وهناك اشتراك وتداخل آخر في الجهاز البولي والتناسلي وعظمة الحوض.
وتابع أنه من المقرر أن تجرى العملية على (9) مراحل، وتستغرق قرابة (15) ساعة -بإذن الله- ويشارك فيها (38) فرداً من الاستشاريين والمختصين من تخصصات التخدير وجراحة الأطفال والمسالك البولية للأطفال والتجميل والعظام والكوادر التمريضية والفنية، مشيراً إلى أن هذه العملية تعد من العمليات الدقيقة ونسبة نجاحها -بمشيئة الله- (70%).
كما أوضح أن البرنامج السعودي للتوائم الملتصقة قام بتقييم (150) حالة من (27) دولة خلال (35) عاماً، وتمكن البرنامج من فصل (64) حالة بنجاح - ولله الحمد - حيث تعد هذه الحالة رقم (65)، فيما كان عدد التوائم السعوديين الملتصقين الذين تم تقييمهم (45) توأماً، وتمثل هذه العملية رقم (16) للتوائم السعودية الذين تم فصلهم بتوفيق الله.
ورفع رئيس الفريق الطبي والجراحي في البرنامج السعودي للتوائم الملتصقة الدكتور عبدالله بن عبدالعزيز الربيعة باسمه ونيابةً عن أعضاء الفريق أسمى آيات الشكر والعرفان لخادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود، وولي عهده رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، على ما يوليانه من رعاية واهتمام ودعم لا محدود للبرنامج، مؤكداً أن هذا الدعم الكريم مكّن الفريق الطبي السعودي من تقديم أعلى معايير الرعاية الطبية المتخصصة، وأسهم في تحسين جودة الحياة للأطفال المستفيدين وأسرهم، ورسخ مكانة المملكة في العمل الإنساني والطبي.
وأبان الربيعة أن البرنامج يواصل تطوير برامجه العلاجية والبحثية، وتحديث بروتوكولاته وفق أحدث ما توصل إليه العلم، إلى جانب نقل الخبرات والمعارف المتراكمة إلى الكوادر الطبية داخل المملكة وخارجها، بما يضمن استدامة الأثر وتوسيع دائرة المستفيدين.
كما أضاف أن النجاحات المتواصلة التي يحققها البرنامج تعكس التميز السعودي في هذا المجال الدقيق، وتعزز مكانة المملكة كمركز عالمي للريادة الطبية في فصل التوائم الملتصقة وغيرها من التخصصات الحيوية.
وفي ختام تصريحه سأل الربيعة المولى عز وجل أن يحفظ القيادة الرشيدة ويبارك في جهودها المباركة، مشيداً بتفاني زملائه أعضاء الفريق وما يبذلونه من عمل احترافي وإنساني يُجسّد القيم النبيلة للمملكة وشعبها في خدمة الإنسان أينما كان.
In implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and the Crown Prince, Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the medical team affiliated with the Saudi program for conjoined twins began this morning the separation operation for the conjoined Saudi twins "Yara and Lara," who are (7) months old, at King Abdullah Specialized Children's Hospital in the King Abdulaziz Medical City of the Ministry of National Guard in Riyadh.
The advisor at the Royal Court and General Supervisor of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action, head of the medical and surgical team affiliated with the Saudi program for conjoined twins, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, stated in a press statement that the conjoined Saudi twins "Yara and Lara" were born on (5 / 11 / 2024) with a combined weight of (10) kilograms, and each has independent upper and lower limbs. The medical team conducted thorough examinations and held several meetings, concluding that separation was feasible.
He added that the twins share a connection in the lower abdomen and pelvis, as well as in the lower colon and rectum, with additional involvement and overlap in the urinary and reproductive systems and the pelvic bone.
He continued that the operation is scheduled to be conducted in (9) stages, taking approximately (15) hours - God willing - with the participation of (38) individuals, including consultants and specialists in anesthesia, pediatric surgery, pediatric urology, plastic surgery, orthopedics, and nursing and technical staff, noting that this operation is considered delicate, with a success rate of - God willing - (70%).
He also clarified that the Saudi program for conjoined twins has assessed (150) cases from (27) countries over (35) years, successfully separating (64) cases - thanks be to God - making this case number (65). The number of Saudi conjoined twins evaluated was (45), and this operation represents number (16) for Saudi twins who have been successfully separated by God's grace.
The head of the medical and surgical team in the Saudi program for conjoined twins, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, expressed his and the team's deepest gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and his Crown Prince, Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, for their care, attention, and unlimited support for the program. He affirmed that this generous support has enabled the Saudi medical team to provide the highest standards of specialized medical care, contributing to improving the quality of life for the benefiting children and their families, and solidifying the Kingdom's position in humanitarian and medical work.
Al-Rabeeah indicated that the program continues to develop its therapeutic and research programs and update its protocols according to the latest scientific advancements, in addition to transferring accumulated expertise and knowledge to medical staff both inside and outside the Kingdom, ensuring the sustainability of impact and expanding the circle of beneficiaries.
He added that the continuous successes achieved by the program reflect Saudi excellence in this precise field and enhance the Kingdom's position as a global center for medical leadership in the separation of conjoined twins and other vital specialties.
