The Shura Council held its fortieth regular session of the first year of the ninth term, chaired by the Deputy Chairman of the Council, Dr. Mishal Fahm Al-Sulami.

The Council issued a decision during this session, calling on the General Entertainment Authority to prepare the infrastructure in the destinations included in the Authority's future plans, urging the Authority to establish a mechanism to align licenses and fees for establishments that have entertainment facilities.

The Council issued another decision during this session, calling on the National Center for Inspection and Control to coordinate with relevant authorities to complete the strategic plan for the Center.

The Council requested in its decision that the Center coordinate with the entities responsible for inspection and control tasks to study the challenges facing individuals and the private sector.

The Council issued another decision during this session regarding the annual report of the General Authority for the Conservation of Coral Reefs and Turtles in the Red Sea for the fiscal year 1445 / 1446 AH, urging the acceleration of the rehabilitation of deteriorated coral reef areas in the Red Sea and the swift provision of necessary protection for environmentally significant sea turtle nesting areas in the Red Sea.

The Council requested in its decision that the Authority conduct field surveys for visitors to the beaches and islands of the Red Sea and utilize the results for awareness and education on the importance of conserving coral reefs and turtles in the Red Sea, urging the Authority to diversify and develop its self-resources to achieve financial sustainability.

The Council issued a decision during this session regarding the annual report of the Decision Support Center for the fiscal year 1445 / 1446 AH. The Council called on the Decision Support Center to coordinate with relevant authorities to develop its technical capabilities in support of the digital transformation plan, urging the Center to work on improving its performance in the "Organizational Health" index by aligning its operational model with its new strategy, ensuring efficient implementation and integration of roles.

The Center was also requested to collaborate with international specialized entities to develop its analytical capabilities and measure their impact on decision support.

The Council issued a decision regarding the annual report of the General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque for the fiscal year 1445 / 1446 AH.

The General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque was urged to complete the implementation of its strategic plan, calling on the Authority to develop a mechanism that ensures the swift contracting and extension procedures for the operation and maintenance programs for the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, and to coordinate with relevant authorities to work on governing the procedures among the entities operating within its scope.

Preserving the Status

of the Arabic Language

The Shura Council issued a decision regarding the annual report of the King Salman Global Complex for the Arabic Language for the fiscal year 1445 / 1446 AH. The Complex was called to study the establishment of offices within and outside the Kingdom.

The Complex was urged to coordinate with relevant authorities to be the national scientific reference for all linguistic institutions in the Kingdom, and to launch national initiatives and build language policies to preserve the status of the Arabic language, enhance its use, and reinforce linguistic identity.

The Council issued a decision regarding the annual report of the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Endowment Libraries for the fiscal year 1445 / 1446 AH. The Foundation was called to coordinate with relevant authorities to develop a phased program to address its recurring challenges, urging the expansion of services for the restoration and maintenance of manuscripts and documents for individuals and entities in all regions of the Kingdom.

Executive Plan

for the "Tourism Academy"

The Shura Council issued a decision during this session regarding the annual report of the Global Academy of Tourism for the fiscal year 1445 / 1446 AH. The Council called on the Academy to prepare a phased executive plan linked to the Academy's strategic plan, including timelines and clear performance indicators, also urging the study of preparing a program for the localization of academic and administrative jobs.

The Council issued a decision regarding the annual report of the Equestrian Authority for the fiscal year 1445 / 1446 AH. The Equestrian Authority was called to coordinate with relevant authorities to achieve the strategic targets of the equestrian sector.

The Shura Council discussed the annual report of the Saudi Investment Marketing Authority for the fiscal year 1445 / 1446 AH. At the end of the discussion, the committee requested additional time to study the opinions or recommendations raised by the members and to return with its perspective to the Council in a later session.
