استعرض رئيس جمهورية سريلانكا الديمقراطية الاشتراكية أنورا كومارا ديساناياكي، والرئيس التنفيذي للصندوق السعودي للتنمية سلطان عبدالرحمن المرشد، العلاقات الإنمائية الوثيقة بين الجانبين الممتدة لنحو 45 عاماً، وبحث سبل تعزيز التعاون التنموي من خلال تمويل المشروعات والبرامج الإنمائية في مختلف القطاعات الحيوية؛ لتعزيز النمو الاجتماعي والازدهار الاقتصادي في سريلانكا.
جاء ذلك، خلال استقبال رئيس سريلانكا للمرشد، للمشاركة في افتتاح مشروع تطوير منطقة جامعة ويامبا، الذي يسهم الصندوق في تمويله بقيمة 28 مليون دولار، دعماً للقطاع التعليمي في مختلف المناطق السريلانكية.
يذكر، أن الصندوق السعودي للتنمية قدّم لجمهورية سريلانكا الديمقراطية الاشتراكية منذ 1981؛ التمويل لتنفيذ 15 مشروعاً وبرنامجاً إنمائياً، لدعم قطاعات المياه والزراعة والنقل والمواصلات والصحة والتعليم، من خلال قروض تنموية ميسّرة تتجاوز قيمتها 424 مليون دولار، للإسهام في النمو الاجتماعي والازدهار الاقتصادي المستدام في سريلانكا.

The President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, and the CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development, Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Murshid, reviewed the close developmental relations between the two sides that have lasted for nearly 45 years, and discussed ways to enhance developmental cooperation through financing projects and developmental programs in various vital sectors; to promote social growth and economic prosperity in Sri Lanka.
This came during the reception of the Sri Lankan President for Al-Murshid, to participate in the inauguration of the Yamaba University Development Project, which the fund is financing with an amount of 28 million dollars, in support of the educational sector in various Sri Lankan regions.
It is noteworthy that the Saudi Fund for Development has provided the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka since 1981; funding for the implementation of 15 developmental projects and programs, to support the sectors of water, agriculture, transport, health, and education, through concessional development loans exceeding 424 million dollars, to contribute to sustainable social growth and economic prosperity in Sri Lanka.
