يُشارك المعهد الملكي للفنون التقليديّة (وِرث) في الأسبوع الثقافي السعودي بإكسبو 2025 أوساكا خلال الفترة من 12 إلى 15 يوليو، بهدف تعزيز حضور الفنون التقليدية السعودية دوليًا، وتمكين روّاد الأعمال، وتقديم تجارب حيّة للجمهور، تزامنًا مع «عام الحرف اليدوية 2025»، واحتفاءً بمرور 70 عامًا على العلاقات الدبلوماسية بين السعودية واليابان.
وقدّم المعهد خلال مشاركته قطعة فنية فريدة بعنوان «بشت الكيمونو»، تمثل اندماجًا فنيًا بين البشت السعودي والكيمونو الياباني، في تصميم يُجسّد لقاء حضاريًا مميزًا بين ثقافتين عريقتين، ويمزج بين الرمز والابتكار.
ودُمجت تقنيات تطريز البشت بأسلوب معاصر على هيئة الكيمونو، لتولد قطعة تنتمي لكلتا الثقافتين، وتعكس حوارًا بصريًا نابضًا بلغة الفن، بالتعاون بين الحرفي السعودي سلمان الحمد واليابانية Yuho Ohkota.
ويأتي هذا العمل تأكيدًا على جهود المعهد الملكي للفنون التقليدية (وِرث) في توظيف الحِرَف والتراث لصناعة محتوى معاصر ذي حضور بصري عالمي ورسالة فنية عميقة، بما يعزز من دوره كجهة رائدة في إبراز الهوية الوطنية،وإثراء الفنون التقليدية السعودية محليًا وعالميًا، والترويج لها، وتقدير الكنوز الحيّة والمتميزين وذوي الريادة، والمساهمة في الحفاظ على الأصول ودعم المواهب الوطنية وتشجيع المهتمين على تعلمها وتطويرها.

The Royal Institute of Traditional Arts (Wirth) is participating in the Saudi Cultural Week at Expo 2025 Osaka from July 12 to 15, aiming to enhance the international presence of Saudi traditional arts, empower entrepreneurs, and provide live experiences for the audience, coinciding with the "Year of Handicrafts 2025," and celebrating 70 years of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Japan.
During its participation, the institute presented a unique artwork titled "Bisht Kimono," representing an artistic fusion between the Saudi bisht and the Japanese kimono, in a design that embodies a distinctive cultural encounter between two ancient cultures, blending symbolism and innovation.
The embroidery techniques of the bisht were integrated in a contemporary style into the form of the kimono, creating a piece that belongs to both cultures and reflects a vibrant visual dialogue in the language of art, in collaboration between Saudi artisan Salman Al-Hamad and Japanese artist Yuho Ohkota.
This work reaffirms the efforts of the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts (Wirth) in utilizing crafts and heritage to create contemporary content with a global visual presence and a profound artistic message, enhancing its role as a leading entity in highlighting national identity, enriching Saudi traditional arts locally and globally, promoting them, appreciating living treasures and distinguished individuals, and contributing to the preservation of heritage, supporting national talents, and encouraging those interested in learning and developing these crafts.
