أطلقت أمانة المنطقة الشرقية، مشروعا تطويريا شاملا لكورنيش الدمام، يمتد من مركز الملك عبد الله الحضاري حتى بداية شارع الكورنيش بحي الحمراء بالدمام، على امتداد 3.6 كيلومتر من الساحل الشرقي للمدينة، وبمساحة تتجاوز 610 آلاف متر مربع، في خطوة تهدف إلى تعزيز جودة الحياة وتوفير وجهة بحرية مميزة للسكان والزوار.
ويأتي هذا المشروع الذي دشنه أمير المنطقة الشرقية الأمير سعود بن نايف بن عبد العزيز، أخيرا، بحضور وزير البلديات والإسكان ماجد بن عبد الله الحقيل، وأمين المنطقة الشرقية المهندس فهد بن محمد الجبير، ضمن جهود الأمانة المستمرة لإعادة تصميم وتوظيف الواجهات البحرية بما يتماشى مع الهوية الساحلية الشرقية، وبما يعكس روح مدينة الدمام وحيويتها، من خلال تنفيذ مساحات مفتوحة، وساحات عامة.
ويتميز المشروع باعتماده على تصميمات معمارية حديثة تتضمن مناطق مشاة، وجلسات مظللة، ومسارات رياضية، وعناصر تفاعلية مبتكرة، بالإضافة إلى تكامل التشجير مع الإضاءة والتجهيزات الحضرية، بما يحقق تجربة بصرية وبيئية متكاملة.
ويمتد تنفيذ المشروع على جدول زمني يتضمن مراحل متعددة تشمل تطوير البنية التحتية، وإعادة تأهيل الساحات، وإنشاء مرافق وخدمات جديدة تواكب تطلعات سكان وزوار مدينة الدمام.
كما يراعي المشروع شمولية الفئات المستفيدة من مختلف الأعمار، من خلال تخصيص أنشطة عائلية، ومساحات لذوي الإعاقة، وأيضا لكبار السن، ومرافق مخصصة للفعاليات المجتمعية المفتوحة، بهدف خلق بيئة ترفيهية وثقافية على مدار العام.
وتنوه أمانة الشرقية على أن مشروع تطوير كورنيش الدمام يُعد امتدادًا لإستراتيجية الأمانة في تعزيز الاستدامة، وتحقيق أهداف رؤية السعودية 2030 في بناء مدن أكثر حيوية وجاذبية، من خلال الارتقاء بمختلف الخدمات والمشاريع التنموية التي تتولى تنفيذها بهدف تحسين جودة الحياة وتحقيق بيئة نموذجية ومستدامة من خلال تطوير المشاريع الحيوية.
The Eastern Province Municipality has launched a comprehensive development project for the Dammam Corniche, extending from the King Abdullah Cultural Center to the beginning of the Corniche Street in the Al-Hamra neighborhood of Dammam, covering a distance of 3.6 kilometers along the eastern coast of the city, with an area exceeding 610,000 square meters. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of life and provide a distinctive marine destination for residents and visitors.
This project, inaugurated by the Prince of the Eastern Province, Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, recently, in the presence of the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Majid bin Abdullah Al-Huqail, and the Eastern Province Municipality Secretary, Engineer Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Jubair, is part of the municipality's ongoing efforts to redesign and utilize waterfronts in line with the Eastern coastal identity, reflecting the spirit and vitality of the city of Dammam through the implementation of open spaces and public squares.
The project is characterized by its reliance on modern architectural designs that include pedestrian areas, shaded seating, sports paths, and innovative interactive elements, in addition to the integration of landscaping with lighting and urban furnishings, achieving a comprehensive visual and environmental experience.
The implementation of the project follows a timeline that includes multiple phases, encompassing the development of infrastructure, the rehabilitation of squares, and the establishment of new facilities and services that meet the aspirations of the residents and visitors of Dammam.
The project also considers inclusivity for beneficiaries of all ages by allocating family activities, spaces for people with disabilities, as well as for the elderly, and facilities dedicated to open community events, aiming to create a recreational and cultural environment throughout the year.
The Eastern Province Municipality emphasizes that the Dammam Corniche development project is an extension of the municipality's strategy to enhance sustainability and achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in building more vibrant and attractive cities by elevating various services and developmental projects aimed at improving the quality of life and achieving an ideal and sustainable environment through the development of vital projects.
