نظم معهد الأمير سعود الفيصل للدراسات الدبلوماسية، أمس، ندوة احتفاء باليوم العالمي للمرأة في الدبلوماسية، بحضور نائب وزير الخارجية المهندس وليد بن عبدالكريم الخريجي، وعدد من القيادات الدبلوماسية النسائية، والسفراء المعتمدين لدى المملكة.
وأكّد نائب وزير الخارجية، في كلمته الافتتاحية، أهمية تمكين المرأة في السلك الدبلوماسي، منوهاً بالإنجازات التي تحققت في هذا المجال تحت قيادة خادم الحرمين الشريفين، وولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء، وفي إطار مستهدفات رؤية المملكة 2030، مشيراً إلى أن المرأة السعودية أصبحت اليوم فاعلة في الساحة الدولية كونها سفيرة وقيادية ومفاوضة وممثلة للمملكة في مختلف المحافل.
وتناولت الندوة عدة محاور رئيسة، من بينها الخطوات المتخذة لدعم المرأة في مسيرتها المهنية الدبلوماسية، ودور الرجل في دعم التغيير، والسمات والمهارات التي تضيفها المرأة للعمل الدبلوماسي، وسبل ضمان إيصال صوتها، كما بحثت الندوة دعم المرأة وتحسين أوضاعها في السلك الدبلوماسي على المستوى العالمي، وأثر اندماج منظور المرأة في صياغة السياسة الخارجية وانعكاس ذلك على السياسات المحلية، إلى جانب تعزيز مشاركتها في المنتديات متعددة الأطراف ومواجهة التحديات الراهنة والمستقبلية.
شارك في الندوة، عدد من القيادات الدبلوماسية النسائية، من بينهم سفيرة مملكة السويد لدى المملكة بيترا ميناندر، وسفيرة مملكة النرويج لدى المملكة كيرستي ترومسدال، والقائمة بالأعمال في سفارة الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية لدى المملكة أليسون ديلورث، ونائب رئيس البعثة في سفارة إيرلندا لدى المملكة الدكتورة هارييت سيكستون مويل، ونائب رئيس البعثة في سفارة أستراليا لدى المملكة كيم رالستون.
كما شهدت الندوة، حضور عدد من السفراء والسفيرات المعتمدين لدى المملكة، وأعضاء السلك الدبلوماسي، ومنسوبي ومنسوبات وزارة الخارجية، وممثلي عدد من الجهات الحكومية.

The Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies organized a seminar yesterday to celebrate International Women's Day in Diplomacy, attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Engineer Walid bin Abdul Karim Al-Khuraiji, along with several female diplomatic leaders and ambassadors accredited to the Kingdom.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized, in his opening speech, the importance of empowering women in the diplomatic corps, highlighting the achievements made in this field under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and within the framework of the objectives of Vision 2030. He pointed out that Saudi women have become active on the international stage as ambassadors, leaders, negotiators, and representatives of the Kingdom in various forums.
The seminar addressed several main themes, including the steps taken to support women in their diplomatic careers, the role of men in supporting change, the traits and skills that women bring to diplomatic work, and ways to ensure their voices are heard. The seminar also discussed supporting women and improving their conditions in the diplomatic corps at the global level, the impact of integrating a women's perspective in shaping foreign policy and its reflection on local policies, as well as enhancing their participation in multilateral forums and addressing current and future challenges.
Several female diplomatic leaders participated in the seminar, including the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Kingdom, Petra Menander, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to the Kingdom, Kirsti Tromsdal, the Chargé d'Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in the Kingdom, Alison Delworth, the Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Ireland to the Kingdom, Dr. Harriet Sixton Moile, and the Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Australia to the Kingdom, Kim Ralston.
The seminar also witnessed the attendance of several accredited ambassadors and ambassadors to the Kingdom, members of the diplomatic corps, and staff from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as representatives from various government entities.
