The pilgrimage (Hajj) holds a sacredness in the heart of the believer, who aspires to perform the visible ritual of Islam in safety, peace, and tranquility; especially as they liberate themselves by donning the Ihram, wrapping themselves in white, distancing themselves from any worldly affairs, ambitions, and temptations, feeling the words of the Almighty (Hajj is [in] months well-known, so whoever has made Hajj obligatory upon themselves therein, there is no sexual relations and no disobedience and no disputing during Hajj). The greatest concern is to perform well and to aspire for acceptance.
Experience has shown that the government of the Kingdom makes every effort each year towards modernization and development, accommodating all regulated numbers, in the specified time and place, and dealing with the ethics of Islam, and the principles of the brotherhood of the religion that has united the hearts of Muslims.
Every official participating in serving the pilgrims feels that the pilgrim is their guest, not just the guest of the state; gentleness towards the delegations, kindness to them, and warmth and hospitality are traits inherent to the people of this nation, who strive to send the guests of the Merciful back to their countries with the most beautiful and sweetest memories.
Since the fifth pillar of Islam is based on pure monotheism to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, it is natural for the pilgrims to abandon anything that disturbs the purity of faith, the cleanliness of the heart, the sanctity of feelings, and the elevation of emotions.
The Ihram that the pilgrims don carries a spiritual etiquette, manifested in modesty, chastity, honesty, and trustworthiness, as well as a legal etiquette, which prohibits covering the head, using perfume, or cutting or shaving hair except after throwing the Jamrat al-Aqabah, and a behavioral etiquette that respects the rights of every pilgrim and their precedence without crowding or pushing, but rather preference and awareness.
Respecting the system remains one of the highest objectives of Sharia, as the Saudi state, may Allah honor it, views all Muslims in Ihram for Hajj and Umrah, and visitors with admiration and pride in serving them, providing human resources and digital elements to facilitate their pilgrimage steps, and to spare them hardship and difficulty; the commitment of the pilgrims to the system is nothing but evidence of their adherence to the etiquette of Ihram.
