في مشهد يجمع الماضي بالحاضر، وقف رئيس مركز إمارة البرزة منصور بن ماجد بن شويل، برفقة مدير فرع هيئة التراث بمنطقة مكة المكرمة زياد فدا، وعدد من مشايخ وأهالي البرزة، على سوق الزبارة التاريخي، أحد أقدم المعالم التراثية في البرزة.
جاءت الزيارة في إطار حرص الجهات الرسمية على إعادة إحياء المواقع التراثية وتحويلها إلى معالم ثقافية نابضة بالحياة. وقد شهدت الجولة استعراضاً لتاريخ السوق، الذي مثّل على مدى عقود ملتقى اقتصادياً واجتماعياً يعكس نبض المجتمع المحلي.
وتمت مناقشة مبادرات تفعيل السوق ليكون مزارا ثقافيا وسياحيا، ضمن مشروع وطني يستهدف تعزيز الهوية المحلية واستثمار المقومات التاريخية لمركز البرزة.
اللافت في تاريخ سوق الزبارة أنه احتضن أول مدرسة ابتدائية عام 1374هـ، وسط مزارع البرزة، وضمت 6 غرف دراسية، وغرفة علوية، ما يعكس العلاقة المتجذرة بين التعليم والمجتمع الريفي، ويمثّل شاهداً على روح المبادرة والرغبة في النهضة منذ بدايات التأسيس.
In a scene that brings together the past and the present, the head of the Al-Barzah Emirate Center, Mansour bin Majid bin Shuwail, accompanied by the director of the Heritage Authority branch in the Makkah region, Ziad Fada, and a number of sheikhs and residents of Al-Barzah, stood at the historic Al-Zubarah market, one of the oldest heritage landmarks in Al-Barzah.
The visit came as part of the official bodies' commitment to reviving heritage sites and transforming them into vibrant cultural landmarks. The tour featured a presentation on the history of the market, which has represented an economic and social hub reflecting the pulse of the local community for decades.
Initiatives to activate the market as a cultural and tourist attraction were discussed, as part of a national project aimed at enhancing local identity and investing in the historical components of the Al-Barzah center.
Notably, the history of Al-Zubarah market includes the establishment of the first primary school in 1374 AH, amidst the farms of Al-Barzah, which included 6 classrooms and an upper room, reflecting the deep-rooted relationship between education and the rural community, and serving as a testament to the spirit of initiative and the desire for progress since the early days of establishment.
