السعودية تحقق المركز الثاني على دول «الـ20» في تطور «الاتصالات والتقنية»

The Kingdom has achieved an exceptional new accomplishment by securing the second position among the G20 countries in the ICT Regulatory Tracker, published by the International Telecommunication Union for the year 2024.

This achievement confirms the progress of the telecommunications and technology sector regulations in the Kingdom, enhances regulatory innovation, establishes an advanced digital infrastructure, and applies effective regulatory tools for the telecommunications and technology market. Additionally, it demonstrates its commitment to providing an attractive and stimulating regulatory environment for investment and the growth of the digital economy, thereby reinforcing the Kingdom's position as a leading regulatory power on the international level.

The Communications, Space, and Technology Authority clarified that the index aims to support decision-makers and regulatory bodies in keeping pace with developments in this vital sector. It measures the development of the regulatory environment for the telecommunications and technology sector in 194 countries around the world, based on 50 criteria distributed across four main axes: the independence of the regulatory body, regulatory powers, the regulatory framework, and the competition framework in the sector.

This achievement is an extension of a number of international successes that the Kingdom has attained in the telecommunications and technology sector. It has continued to enhance its global standing by achieving the highest rankings and advanced positions, maintaining the second position among G20 countries in the Telecommunications and Technology Development Index for the year 2024 for two consecutive years, in addition to achieving the second position within the G20 in the Telecommunications Infrastructure Index (TII) published by the United Nations.
