What the Houthi terrorist militia has committed in Shabwa Governorate, and the crime that resulted in over 253 victims, both dead and injured, is not merely a fleeting assault in its record of crimes, but a final warning bell to all Yemenis, north and south, parties, tribes, and political and military components, that this project does not recognize partnership, does not believe in coexistence, and does not value the lives of Yemenis.
The Houthis, who direct their weapons at their fellow countrymen, do not differentiate between one area and another, nor between civilian and military, nor between those who politically disagree with them and those who confront them on the battlefield; for all are, in the calculations of this militia, targets whenever they oppose its project based on subjugating Yemenis by force and confiscating their right to state, life, and freedom.
Targeting young people preparing to fulfill their national duty in protecting citizens and preserving security and stability in Shabwa once again reveals the truth of the militia that has made violence a permanent means to impose its will, and Yemeni blood a tool to entrench its influence. Terrorism in the Houthi project is not a temporary deviation or an exceptional behavior, but a practice that recurs whenever the militia feels that Yemenis are nearing the restoration of their state, and that its terrorist project faces national resistance that refuses to submit. Therefore, any attempt to portray its crimes as mere events related to a military conflict ignores the essence of the problem.
