The European Union has announced its solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its Gulf partners against the attacks by the Houthi militia. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated in a post on the platform "X" yesterday (Tuesday) that regional security will be at the heart of discussions with the Gulf Cooperation Council later in October.
She said that the Iran-backed Houthis have once again targeted infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, including refineries and airports, emphasizing that these attacks "undermine global energy security and increase instability in the region."
For its part, the Muslim World League condemned the Houthis' continued sinful aggression against civilians and civilian objects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and their repeated targeting of Muslim sanctities.
The Secretary-General and President of the Muslim Scholars Association, Muhammad Abdul Karim Al-Issa, reiterated the condemnation of these terrorist attacks, which violate all religious values, international laws, and humanitarian norms. He stated that the Houthis' approach confirms their rejection of all efforts for a comprehensive peaceful and political solution that restores matters to their rightful course according to the constitutional tools that the militia has overturned.
Al-Issa affirmed full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all measures it takes to deter aggressors, safeguard its security and resources, and ensure the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory, as well as in its support for the Yemeni people and their legitimate leadership, to restore stability to the Yemeni state and its constitutional institutions, assert its sovereignty over its entire territory, and defeat this criminal faction and its coup against legitimacy.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jasem Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, strongly condemned the two attacks that targeted the facilities of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jazan and Najran International Airport, affirming that targeting airports and civilian facilities is a serious escalation and a violation of international laws and norms, posing a threat to civilian security and the safety of air navigation.
Al-Budaiwi emphasized the necessity for the international community to take a firm stance and hold the perpetrators of these attacks accountable, affirming that the Gulf Cooperation Council countries stand united alongside the Kingdom, supporting it in protecting its security, stability, and territorial integrity, while expressing his wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured.
