لقد تجاوز الحوثيون جميع الخطوط الحمراء في عدوانهم على السعودية، ولم يكتفوا باستهداف المدنيين، والأعيان المدنية، والمنشآت الاقتصادية والنفطية؛ بل بلغ بهم الفجور في خصومتهم حدّ استهداف أقدس مقدسات المسلمين في مكة المكرمة والمدينة المنورة.
ويحدث ذلك، في حين تتبنى المملكة العربية السعودية نهجاً متوازناً يتعامل مع الأحداث بواقعية سياسية، وفق معطياتها في كل مرحلة. فهي تتبنى نهج القوة والحزم في زمن الحرب والنزاع، لكنها تتبنى وتدعم نهج الحكمة، وتغليب العقل، وحل الخلافات عن طريق الحوار والعمل السياسي والدبلوماسي في وقت السلم، ممارسة أقصى ضبط للنفس، ومبدية أكبر قدر من الصبر على طيْش المعادين، وتهجمات الخصوم.
وبات خصومها يصدِّقون أنهم منتصرون، وقادرون على إلحاق الهزيمة بجميع دول العالم، وأنهم سيُسكِتون الدول الكبرى بعملياتهم الإرهابية. يقومون بكل ذلك والمملكة صابرة ومحتسبة ومنضبطة الأعصاب، رغم تضرر منشآتها، والخسائر المادية والبشرية التي تستهدفها. ولكن كل دولة في العالم لها حدود لصبرها واحتمالها. وليس مطلوباً منها أن تبقى صامتة وأعداؤها يوغلون في عبثهم وسفاهتهم وتعديهم كل حدود المقبول.
وهذا التأني والتريث من جانب المملكة يأتيان في جانب من إدراك المملكة العربية السعودية أن ما يحدث في المنطقة شأن يهمّ العالم كله، وليس السعودية وحدها.
وإذا قرر خصوم السعودية من تلقاء أنفسهم أن يجنحوا للسلم، فسيجدون المملكة في مقدمة رافعي رايات السلام، نابذةً العنف، مناديةً بالتصالح والسعودية متألمة أكثر من غيرها من حال المنطقة، لأنها لم تدعُ في ممارساتها وسياساتها لشيء سوى السلام، وتبادل المصالح. وليس وارداً في حساباتها أن تكون في أي يوم مطِيةً لأي قوى دولية أو إقليمية. وهي سياسة ظلت تلتزمها منذ تأسيسها قبل ما ينوف على 90 عاماً. لكن صبرها الإستراتيجي لن يكون صمتاً أبدياً على المعتدين والأشرار.
The Houthis have crossed all red lines in their aggression against Saudi Arabia, and they have not limited themselves to targeting civilians, civilian objects, and economic and oil facilities; rather, their audacity in their hostility has reached the point of targeting the holiest sanctities of Muslims in Mecca and Medina.
This occurs while the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia adopts a balanced approach that deals with events with political realism, according to its circumstances at each stage. It adopts a stance of strength and firmness in times of war and conflict, but it also embraces and supports a path of wisdom, prioritizing reason, and resolving disputes through dialogue and political and diplomatic action in times of peace, exercising maximum self-restraint, and showing the greatest degree of patience towards the recklessness of its adversaries and the attacks of its opponents.
Its adversaries have come to believe that they are victorious and capable of defeating all the countries of the world, and that they will silence the major powers with their terrorist operations. They do all this while the Kingdom remains patient, steadfast, and composed, despite the damage to its facilities and the material and human losses it suffers. However, every country in the world has its limits of patience and endurance. It is not required to remain silent while its enemies indulge in their mischief, folly, and transgression of all acceptable boundaries.
This caution and restraint on the part of the Kingdom comes from its recognition that what is happening in the region is a matter that concerns the entire world, not just Saudi Arabia.
If Saudi Arabia's adversaries decide on their own to lean towards peace, they will find the Kingdom at the forefront of those raising the banners of peace, renouncing violence, and calling for reconciliation, with Saudi Arabia suffering more than others from the state of the region, as it has not called for anything in its practices and policies except for peace and mutual interests. It is not in its calculations to be, at any time, a tool for any international or regional powers. This is a policy it has adhered to since its establishment over 90 years ago. However, its strategic patience will not be an eternal silence towards the aggressors and evildoers.
