أعرب الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية جاسم محمد البديوي، عن إدانته بأشد العبارات للاعتداء الحوثي الآثم الذي استهدف محافظة الطائف في المملكة العربية السعودية بطائرة مسيرة، وأسفر سقوط شظاياها عن وفاة شخص وإصابة آخرين، فضلًا عن وقوع أضرار مادية.
وأكد أن استمرار مليشيا الحوثي في اعتداءاتها الإرهابية واستهدافها المتكرر للمناطق المدنية والآهلة بالسكان في المملكة، يمثل تصعيدًا خطيرًا واستهتارًا مرفوضًا بأرواح المدنيين وأمنهم، وانتهاكًا صارخًا لكافة القوانين والأعراف الدولية.
وشدد على أن هذه الاعتداءات المتكررة تستوجب موقفًا دوليًا حازمًا ومسؤولًا تجاه الممارسات الحوثية الغادرة، والعمل على وقفها ومحاسبة المسؤولين عنها، بما يكفل حماية المدنيين ويحول دون استمرار تهديد أمن واستقرار المنطقة.
وجدد الأمين العام موقف مجلس التعاون الثابت وتضامنه الكامل مع المملكة العربية السعودية في مواجهة كل ما يهدد أمنها واستقرارها وسلامة أراضيها ومواطنيها والمقيمين على أراضيها، مؤكدًا وقوف دول المجلس صفًا واحدًا مع المملكة، ومساندتها في كافة الإجراءات والتدابير التي تتخذها للحفاظ على أمنها وسيادتها وسلامة أراضيها.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi, expressed his strongest condemnation of the heinous Houthi attack that targeted the Taif region in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a drone, resulting in debris falling that led to the death of one person and injuries to others, in addition to causing material damage.
He affirmed that the continued terrorist attacks by the Houthi militia and their repeated targeting of civilian and populated areas in the Kingdom represent a dangerous escalation and an unacceptable disregard for the lives and security of civilians, as well as a blatant violation of all international laws and norms.
He emphasized that these repeated attacks necessitate a firm and responsible international stance towards the treacherous Houthi practices, and the need to work towards stopping them and holding those responsible accountable, in a manner that ensures the protection of civilians and prevents the continuation of threats to the security and stability of the region.
The Secretary-General reiterated the steadfast position of the Gulf Cooperation Council and its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in facing all that threatens its security, stability, territorial integrity, and the safety of its citizens and residents, affirming that the member states stand united with the Kingdom and support it in all measures and actions it takes to maintain its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
