The Deputy Minister of Awqaf and Guidance in Yemen, Tarek Ghaleb Al-Qurashi, warned of the dangers of the Houthi targeting of Mecca, confirming that it is a red line.
Al-Qurashi stated in remarks to "Okaz": "Targeting Mecca or exposing its security and the safety of those visiting the Sacred House of God to any danger is a heinous terrorist crime that crosses all red lines, and it unequivocally reveals the criminal nature of the Houthi terrorist militia and its terrorist project, which no longer threatens Yemen and the region alone, but has begun to violate the holiest sanctities of Muslims."
He added: "Mecca is not a military target, nor is it a battleground for conflicts and adventures. Those who direct their weapons toward it are declaring their enmity toward more than one and a half billion Muslims, and placing themselves in open confrontation with the feelings of the entire Islamic nation."
The Deputy Minister of Awqaf in Yemen clarified that by engaging in this terrorist behavior, the Houthi militia once again confirms that it does not respect the sanctity of blood, nor the holiness of places, nor religious and human values, and that its religious slogans are nothing but a cover for an aggressive project run by the mentality of militia and terrorism.
He pointed out that the Yemeni people reject these practices and declare their absolute condemnation and strong denunciation of this sinful attack, affirming their full support for Saudi Arabia, its leadership, and its people, in their legitimate right to protect their lands and sanctities and to defend the security of their citizens and residents on their land and the guests of the Merciful.
Al-Qurashi called on the international community and Arab and Islamic countries to deal with this crime with the seriousness it deserves, and not to allow Islamic sanctities to be turned into targets in the conflicts of militias and armed groups, stressing: "The Houthi has once again missed the mark."
He emphasized that Mecca is a red line, the security of the Kingdom is a red line, and the sanctity of Islamic sanctities is a red line that cannot be compromised or tested, adding: "Those who threaten the security of Mecca must realize that their reckoning will not be with a political party alone, but with an entire nation that denounces, condemns, and refuses to have its sanctities violated under any pretext or slogan."
