دفع مجلس شؤون الجامعات بمبادرة جديدة لتطوير القيادات في مؤسسات التعليم العالي، عبر «مركز إعداد القيادات الجامعية»، الذي يستهدف تعزيز قدرات القيادات الحالية والمستقبلية، ودعم إدارة الأداء القيادي المبنية على الأدلة، وبناء مسارات قيادية مستدامة في الجامعات.
وكشف المجلس، عبر حسابه الرسمي في منصة إكس، أن الفئات المستهدفة تشمل رؤساء مجالس الأمناء، ورؤساء الجامعات، والقيادات الجامعية، إضافة إلى وكلاء وعمداء الجامعات، فيما ترتكز أهداف المركز على أربعة محاور، المساهمة في اختيار القيادات الأكاديمية في المملكة، وتطوير قدرات القيادات الجامعية الحالية والمستقبلية، وتمكين إدارة أداء القيادات المبنية على الأدلة، وبناء مسارات قيادية مستدامة عبر الجامعات.
ويقدم المركز حزمة من الخدمات تشمل تحديد المواهب وتقييمها، وتطوير القدرات القيادية، وإدارة الأداء، والتخطيط للتعاقب وإدارة المسارات القيادية، إلى جانب الدعم والاستشارات القيادية، والتأهيل والاندماج القيادي، والريادة الفكرية في التعليم العالي، والتفاعل الدولي.
وحدد المجلس دورة متكاملة لإدارة القيادات تبدأ بـ«الاختيار»، ثم التهيئة، والتطوير، والتقييم، والاستبقاء، وصولاً إلى الانتقال، بما يضمن استمرارية بناء الكفاءات القيادية وإعدادها لمراحل المسؤولية المختلفة.
ويراهن المركز على إعداد قيادات جامعية جاهزة للتحول، وتعزيز الحوكمة والأداء، وبناء مسارات قيادية قوية ومتنوعة، بما يدعم الجامعات في تحقيق الأولويات الوطنية، ويرفع تنافسية قطاع التعليم العالي ويعزز سمعته.
The Council of University Affairs has launched a new initiative to develop leadership in higher education institutions through the "University Leadership Preparation Center," which aims to enhance the capabilities of current and future leaders, support evidence-based leadership performance management, and build sustainable leadership pathways in universities.
The council revealed, via its official account on the X platform, that the target groups include chairpersons of boards of trustees, university presidents, university leaders, as well as vice presidents and deans of universities. The center's objectives focus on four main areas: contributing to the selection of academic leaders in the Kingdom, developing the capabilities of current and future university leaders, enabling evidence-based leadership performance management, and building sustainable leadership pathways across universities.
The center offers a range of services including talent identification and assessment, leadership capability development, performance management, succession planning, and leadership pathway management, along with leadership support and consulting, leadership qualification and integration, intellectual leadership in higher education, and international engagement.
The council has defined a comprehensive leadership management cycle that begins with "selection," followed by orientation, development, evaluation, retention, and transition, ensuring the continuity of building leadership competencies and preparing them for various levels of responsibility.
The center aims to prepare university leaders ready for transformation, enhance governance and performance, and build strong and diverse leadership pathways, thereby supporting universities in achieving national priorities, increasing the competitiveness of the higher education sector, and enhancing its reputation.
