Perhaps one of the golden periods for the world, and the most objective stages, was when the planet Earth was bipolar; the East, with all its components, beliefs, and classics, represented a significant balance against the liberal pragmatic West, which justified all the means it adopted for its utilitarian goals. This reached a peak of scandal when the West, particularly America, dominated the scene, leading to complaints from nations about the numerous unjust policies imposed upon them, and a longing for a multipolar world to confront individual excesses that do not distinguish between mistakes and sins.
In light of what we witness today in economic competition, which manifests throughout the day in the market, it has proven that everyone has the right to engage in their legitimate activities on the widest available grounds. However, there is no substitute for a balance of power, as it is not necessary for the West to be everywhere with its equipment and stubbornness of some of its leaders, simply because it carries the banner of democracy, while every step taken by the East is scrutinized as it is viewed as an icon of tyranny. Pluralism mitigates the extremity of reactions to regimes that have always become accustomed to escalation and have ignited crises without regard for what countries and their citizens aspire to in terms of stability, nation-building, and enhancing partnerships that benefit everyone and harm no one.
It may be time to pay attention to emerging economies, especially those backed by human and population groups that are not entirely satisfied with a unipolar world that wants everyone to see what it sees. Perhaps the emergence of new powers should prompt the West to reconsider its policies and acknowledge that countries have the right to live in security and to complete their developmental projects, which elevate the status of humanity that the West has long celebrated in terms of rights.
