أكد قائد التحالف البحري الدفاعي اللواء البحري الركن عبدالله الشهري أن التحالف الذي أسسته وتقوده الرياض يمتلك خطة إستراتيجية لمواجهة التحديات، موضحاً أن حماية الملاحة البحرية ضمن خطط التحالف.
وقال اللواء البحري الركن عبدالله الشهري، في تصريح تلفزيوني لـ«العربية»، عقب تعيينه قائداً للتحالف الدفاعي: «التحالف جاء استجابة للتحديات والتهديدات الراهنة، وتعزيز الأمن البحري وحماية المصالح من الأهداف الأساسية للتحالف»، مشدداً على أن أمن الممرات البحرية الدولية يعد مسؤولية جماعية تتطلب العمل المشترك.
ولفت إلى أن «التعاون الدفاعي يعد ركيزة لحماية الملاحة واستقرار الأسواق».
من جهة أخرى، قال المتحدث باسم وزارة الدفاع اللواء الركن تركي المالكي إن إعلان التحالف البحري استجابة مباشرة لأهمية توحيد جهود الدفاع، موضحاً أن التهديدات الراهنة في المنطقة فرضت تعزيز التنسيق والتعاون.
The commander of the maritime defense coalition, Rear Admiral Abdullah Al-Shahri, confirmed that the coalition established and led by Riyadh has a strategic plan to face challenges, explaining that the protection of maritime navigation is part of the coalition's plans.
Rear Admiral Abdullah Al-Shahri stated in a television interview with "Al Arabiya," following his appointment as the commander of the defense coalition: "The coalition was formed in response to current challenges and threats, and enhancing maritime security and protecting interests are among the coalition's primary objectives," emphasizing that the security of international maritime corridors is a collective responsibility that requires joint action.
He pointed out that "defensive cooperation is a cornerstone for protecting navigation and stabilizing markets."
On another note, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, stated that the announcement of the maritime coalition is a direct response to the importance of unifying defense efforts, explaining that the current threats in the region have necessitated the enhancement of coordination and cooperation.
