اعتماد قاعدة بيانات الأسماء الجغرافية مرجعاً وطنياً معتمداً

The National Committee for Geographic Names recommended adopting the geographic names database at the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information as an official national reference and the basis for all related databases in government entities, contributing to the unification of the national reference and enhancing the governance and quality of geospatial information.

This recommendation came during the nineteenth meeting of the committee, chaired by the President of the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information, Dr. Engineer Mohammed bin Yahya Al-Sail, with the participation of committee members from relevant entities.

National Standards

The committee reviewed several topics on its agenda, including requests related to geographic names from the Northern Borders, Al-Jawf, Tabuk, Al-Qassim, and Asir regions, in accordance with the approved national standards.
It also discussed coordination and alignment efforts with the Royal Commission for Al-Ula Governorate, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, and the Ministry of Interior, to enhance the unification of references and the integration of databases related to geographic names among government entities.
