عثرت فرق الحماية التابعة لهيئة تطوير محمية الإمام تركي بن عبدالله الملكية على مفقود بعد يومين من فقدانه داخل منطقة صحراوية وعرة ضمن نطاق المحمية، وذلك عقب عملية بحث ميدانية مدعومة بالرصد الجوي باستخدام طائرة من دون طيار، انتهت بتحديد موقعه على بُعد نحو 45 كيلومترًا من أقرب طريق، حيث عُثر عليه وهو بصحة جيدة.
وبدأت عملية البحث أثناء جولة ميدانية لفرق الحماية التابعة لمركز خوعاء، إذ التقى أفرادها بإحدى فرق البحث والإنقاذ، وتسلموا بيانات المفقود وأوصاف مركبته، قبل أن تُنقل المعلومات إلى غرفة عمليات الهيئة التي باشرت متابعة الحالة والتنسيق مع الجهات ذات العلاقة، فيما واصل أحد أعضاء فريق الحماية أعمال البحث مستفيدًا من معرفته الميدانية بطبيعة المنطقة وتضاريسها.
ومع اتساع نطاق البحث وصعوبة الوصول إلى أجزاء واسعة من المنطقة بالوسائل التقليدية، نفذت الهيئة طلعات متتابعة بطائرة من دون طيار، مع إعادة توجيه مسارات المسح وتوسيع نطاق الرصد وفق المعطيات المتوافرة، وأسفرت أعمال المسح الجوي عن رصد مركبة مطابقة للأوصاف في موقع ناءٍ يبعد نحو 45 كيلومترًا عن أقرب طريق، لتُحدد إحداثيات الموقع بدقة، ويُعثر على المفقود وهو في صحة جيدة. كما تولت غرفة عمليات الهيئة تمرير الإحداثيات إلى هيئة الهلال الأحمر السعودي وفرق البحث والإنقاذ وذوي المفقود، مع متابعة تحركات الفرق حتى اكتمال عملية الوصول إليه وتسليمه.
وأكدت الهيئة أهمية الالتزام بإجراءات السلامة قبل التوجه إلى المناطق البرية، والتأكد من جاهزية المركبات ووسائل الاتصال، ومعرفة المسارات، وتجنب الطرق الوعرة وكل ما قد يعرض السلامة للخطر.
The protection teams of the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve Development Authority found a missing person after two days of being lost in a rugged desert area within the reserve. This followed a field search operation supported by aerial surveillance using a drone, which concluded with locating him about 45 kilometers from the nearest road, where he was found in good health.
The search operation began during a field tour by the protection teams from the Khawiah Center, where its members met with one of the search and rescue teams, received the missing person's data and vehicle descriptions, before the information was relayed to the authority's operations room, which started monitoring the situation and coordinating with the relevant authorities. Meanwhile, one of the protection team members continued the search, benefiting from his field knowledge of the area's nature and terrain.
As the search area expanded and it became difficult to access large parts of the region using traditional means, the authority conducted consecutive flights with a drone, redirecting survey paths and expanding the monitoring area based on the available data. The aerial survey efforts resulted in spotting a vehicle matching the descriptions in a remote location about 45 kilometers from the nearest road, allowing for precise location coordinates to be established, and the missing person was found in good health. The authority's operations room also relayed the coordinates to the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, search and rescue teams, and the missing person's family, while monitoring the teams' movements until the completion of the operation to reach and hand him over.
The authority emphasized the importance of adhering to safety procedures before heading to remote areas, ensuring the readiness of vehicles and communication means, knowing the routes, and avoiding rugged paths and anything that could jeopardize safety.
