دعا السفير السعودي لدى سلطنة عُمان إبراهيم بن بيشان المسافرين إلى عمان إلى التخطيط المسبق للرحلات البرية الطويلة، واختيار الطريق المناسب بعد عبور منفذ الربع الخالي والدخول إلى أراضي السلطنة، مع التعرف على مسار الرحلة والخدمات والمحطات المتاحة على امتداد الطريق.
وأوضح السفير لـ«عكاظ» على خلفية حادثة الأسرة السعودية أن القادم براً إلى عُمان يكون قد قطع مسافة طويلة قبل الوصول إلى المنفذ، الأمر الذي يستلزم التوقف وأخذ قسط كافٍ من الراحة، قبل مواصلة القيادة داخل الأراضي العُمانية.
خصوصاً في الطرق الممتدة التي تتطلب تركيزاً متواصلاً واستعداداً بدنياً وذهنياً.
وشدد السفير على أهمية توزيع ساعات القيادة، والتوقف في عدد من المحطات للراحة والتزود بالوقود والحاجات الأساسية، وعدم الاستمرار في السير عند الشعور بالإرهاق أو النعاس، مؤكداً أن السلامة تبدأ من حسن الاستعداد للرحلة، ومعرفة الطرق المناسبة، وتقدير المسافات بين المدن والمحطات.
المسارات الأكثر ملاءمة
وأشار السفير إبراهيم بن بيشان إلى أن الرحلات البرية الطويلة تتطلب من السائق تجنب القيادة المتواصلة لساعات ممتدة، والحرص على النوم الكافي قبل الانطلاق، ومتابعة حالة المركبة والتأكد من جاهزيتها الفنية، إلى جانب فحص الإطارات والمكابح ومستوى الوقود، وحمل كميات كافية من المياه والحاجات الضرورية، كما حث المسافرين على الاستفادة من التطبيقات الملاحية الموثوقة، والاطلاع على حالة الطرق، واختيار المسارات الأكثر ملاءمة، مع مراعاة أن بعض الطرق داخل السلطنة تمتد لمسافات طويلة وتتباعد فيها الخدمات، ما يجعل التخطيط للوقوف والراحة أمراً ضرورياً.
السفارة تابعت أوضاع المصابين
حديث السفير لـ«عكاظ» جاء عقب حادثة مرورية تعرضت لها أسرة سعودية خلال رحلتها داخل سلطنة عُمان، وأسفرت عن وفاة زوجين وإصابة عدد من أفراد الأسرة، وباشرت السفارة متابعة الحادثة فور تلقي البلاغ، ونسقت مع الجهات العُمانية المختصة لإنهاء الإجراءات اللازمة.
وبيّن السفير أن السفارة عملت على متابعة أوضاع المصابين، والتنسيق بشأن نقل الجثمانين إلى السعودية، وتقديم الدعم المطلوب للأسرة، مشيداً بسرعة استجابة الجهات الرسمية في سلطنة عُمان وتعاونها في استكمال الإجراءات خلال وقت وجيز.
سجلوا بيانات رحلاتكم
السفير السعودي لدى سلطنة عُمان أكد أن سلامة المواطنين السعوديين في السلطنة تحظى بمتابعة مستمرة من السفارة، داعياً جميع المسافرين إلى تسجيل بيانات رحلاتهم، والاحتفاظ بأرقام التواصل الرسمية، والاتصال بالسفارة عند الحاجة أو في الحالات الطارئة.
ونصح المسافرين عبر منفذ الربع الخالي إلى تقدير طول الرحلة قبل الانطلاق، ووضع برنامج واضح للتوقف، وعدم الاعتماد على القدرة على مواصلة القيادة لمسافات طويلة دون راحة، خصوصاً أن التعب قد يتراكم تدريجياً ويؤثر في الانتباه وسرعة الاستجابة أثناء القيادة.
واختتم السفير بالتأكيد على أن اختيار الطريق المناسب، والراحة في المحطات، وعدم الاستعجال في الوصول، تعد عوامل أساسية للحد من مخاطر الحوادث، مشدداً على أن الحفاظ على سلامة المسافر ومرافقيه يتقدم على أي اعتبار آخر.
The Saudi ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Ibrahim bin Bishan, urged travelers to Oman to plan their long road trips in advance and choose the appropriate route after crossing the Empty Quarter and entering the territory of the Sultanate, while being aware of the journey's path and the services and stations available along the way.
The ambassador explained to "Okaz" in light of the incident involving a Saudi family that those coming by land to Oman would have covered a long distance before reaching the crossing point, which necessitates stopping and taking sufficient rest before continuing to drive within Omani territory.
Especially on the extended roads that require continuous focus and physical and mental readiness.
The ambassador emphasized the importance of distributing driving hours, stopping at several stations for rest, refueling, and obtaining basic necessities, and not continuing to drive when feeling fatigued or drowsy, affirming that safety begins with proper preparation for the trip, knowing the appropriate routes, and estimating the distances between cities and stations.
The Most Suitable Routes
Ambassador Ibrahim bin Bishan pointed out that long road trips require the driver to avoid continuous driving for extended hours, ensure adequate sleep before departure, monitor the vehicle's condition and ensure its technical readiness, as well as check the tires, brakes, and fuel level, and carry sufficient amounts of water and essential supplies. He also encouraged travelers to benefit from reliable navigation applications, check road conditions, and choose the most suitable routes, keeping in mind that some roads within the Sultanate extend over long distances with sparse services, making planning for stops and rest essential.
The Embassy Monitored the Condition of the Injured
The ambassador's remarks to "Okaz" came following a traffic accident involving a Saudi family during their trip within the Sultanate of Oman, which resulted in the death of a couple and injuries to several family members. The embassy began monitoring the incident immediately upon receiving the report and coordinated with the relevant Omani authorities to complete the necessary procedures.
The ambassador indicated that the embassy worked to monitor the condition of the injured, coordinate the transfer of the two bodies to Saudi Arabia, and provide the required support to the family, praising the quick response of the official authorities in the Sultanate of Oman and their cooperation in completing the procedures in a timely manner.

The Saudi ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman confirmed that the safety of Saudi citizens in the Sultanate is continuously monitored by the embassy, urging all travelers to register their travel information, keep official contact numbers, and contact the embassy when needed or in emergencies.
He advised travelers crossing through the Empty Quarter to estimate the length of the journey before setting off, establish a clear stop schedule, and not rely on the ability to continue driving long distances without rest, especially since fatigue can gradually accumulate and affect attention and response speed while driving.
The ambassador concluded by emphasizing that choosing the right road, taking breaks at stations, and not rushing to arrive are essential factors in reducing the risks of accidents, stressing that maintaining the safety of the traveler and their companions takes precedence over any other consideration.
