أكدت الملحق الثقافي السعودي في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وكندا المشرف على دول أمريكا الجنوبية الدكتورة تهاني عبدالعزيز البيز، أن الزخم المتنامي في العلاقات السعودية الكندية أسهم في توسيع آفاق التعاون الأكاديمي والتعليمي، ما انعكس في ارتفاع أعداد المبتعثين والخريجين السعوديين في كندا، وتعزيز حضورهم في نخبة الجامعات والمؤسسات التعليمية والطبية المرموقة.
وقالت في تصريح تزامن مع مخرجات زيارة رئيس الوزراء الكندي مارك كارني إلى السعودية، إن أعداد الأطباء السعوديين الخريجين المتوقع تخرجهم في التخصصات الصحية والطبية في كندا سجلت نموًا قياسيًا بلغ نحو 256%، إذ ارتفع عدد الخريجين خلال عام 2025 إلى 606 خريجين وخريجات، مقارنة بـ170 خريجًا في عام 2020، في مؤشر يعكس تنامي الحضور الأكاديمي والطبي السعودي في المؤسسات التعليمية والتدريبية الكندية.
وأضافت أن الملحقية الثقافية استقبلت دفعة جديدة من المبتعثين والمبتعثات ضمن مسار الرواد للعام الأكاديمي 2025-2026، بلغ عددهم 61 طالبًا وطالبة، التحقوا بجامعات مصنفة ضمن أفضل 15 جامعة على مستوى العالم.
وأكدت أن النمو المتواصل في أعداد الخريجين واتساع دائرة الالتحاق بالجامعات العالمية يعكسان الدعم المستمر الذي يحظى به قطاع الابتعاث من القيادة، ويسهمان في تعزيز الشراكات الأكاديمية بين المملكة وكندا، وإعداد كفاءات وطنية مؤهلة لنقل المعرفة ودعم القطاعات الواعدة، وفي مقدمتها القطاع الصحي.
The Saudi Cultural Attaché in the United States and Canada, overseeing South American countries, Dr. Tahani Abdulaziz Al-Biz, confirmed that the growing momentum in Saudi-Canadian relations has contributed to expanding the horizons of academic and educational cooperation, which is reflected in the increase in the number of Saudi scholarship students and graduates in Canada, enhancing their presence in elite universities and prestigious educational and medical institutions.
She stated in a statement coinciding with the outcomes of Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's visit to Saudi Arabia that the number of Saudi doctors expected to graduate in health and medical specialties in Canada has recorded a historic growth of about 256%, with the number of graduates in 2025 rising to 606 graduates, compared to 170 graduates in 2020, indicating the growing academic and medical presence of Saudis in Canadian educational and training institutions.
She added that the Cultural Attaché has welcomed a new batch of scholarship students as part of the Pioneers track for the academic year 2025-2026, totaling 61 male and female students, who have joined universities ranked among the top 15 universities in the world.
She emphasized that the continuous growth in the number of graduates and the widening scope of enrollment in global universities reflect the ongoing support that the scholarship sector receives from the leadership, contributing to strengthening academic partnerships between the Kingdom and Canada, and preparing qualified national competencies to transfer knowledge and support promising sectors, foremost among them the health sector.
