أبدى وزراء ومسؤولون في عدد من الدول، رغبتهم في الانضمام إلى البرامج والمبادرات الابتكارية التي تحتضنها واحة المياه للابتكار بمحافظة رابغ، وتوسيع التعاون مع الهيئة السعودية للمياه، بعد اطلاعهم على منظومة الابتكار التي تحتضنها الواحة، وإشادتهم بما توفره من بنية تحتية بحثية متقدمة، تشمل أكثر من 20 مختبرًا متخصصًا، وذلك خلال زيارتهم على هامش مؤتمر أسبوع المياه السعودي.
واستقبلت الهيئة السعودية للمياه الوفد، الذي ضم وزير الموارد المائية في باكستان محمد معين واتو، ووزيرة البيئة في جمهورية كوسوفو فيتوري باتشولي، ووزير الموارد المائية في ليبيا المهندس حسني عويدان، ومساعد المستشار المبعوث الخاص لوزير الخارجية الإيطالي ماركو راغو، إلى جانب وفود رسمية من سلطنة عُمان، ودولة الكويت، والجمهورية التونسية.
واطّلع الوفد على مرافق الواحة ومحطاتها التجريبية، وما توفره من بيئة متكاملة لتطوير واختبار واعتماد تقنيات المياه في ظروف تشغيلية واقعية، مؤكدين، أن ما شاهدوه يجسد نموذجًا متقدمًا يربط البحث العلمي بالتطبيقات العملية، ويُسرّع انتقال التقنيات من المختبر إلى التطبيق.
واستعرضت الهيئة منظومة الابتكار التي تحتضنها الواحة، والتي تغطي رحلة تطوير التقنية بدءًا من البحث والتطوير، مرورًا بتطوير وتصنيع النماذج الأولية، وبناء القدرات، والاحتضان والتسريع، وصولًا إلى معسكر الجاهزية للاستثمار، والخدمات البحثية، إلى جانب منصة الابتكار العالمية للمياه (GWIP)، التي تربط الباحثين والمبتكرين والشركات الناشئة بالمستثمرين، بما يسهم في تسريع تطوير التقنيات وتحويلها إلى حلول قابلة للتطبيق.
وتعرّف الوفد على أبرز التقنيات التي تطورها الواحة في مجالات التحلية، وأغشية التناضح العكسي، وأغشية الترشيح النانوي، ومعالجة المياه ومياه الصرف، واختبارات مواد أنظمة نقل المياه، وتطبيقات الذكاء الاصطناعي في إدارة المياه.
Ministers and officials from several countries expressed their desire to join the innovative programs and initiatives hosted by the Water Innovation Oasis in Rabigh Governorate and to expand cooperation with the Saudi Water Authority after being briefed on the innovation system that the oasis encompasses, and praising the advanced research infrastructure it provides, which includes more than 20 specialized laboratories, during their visit on the sidelines of the Saudi Water Week Conference.
The Saudi Water Authority welcomed the delegation, which included Pakistan's Minister of Water Resources Muhammad Maeen Watto, Kosovo's Minister of Environment Vitore Pacolli, Libya's Minister of Water Resources Engineer Hosni Awidan, and the Assistant Advisor and Special Envoy to the Italian Foreign Minister Marco Rago, along with official delegations from the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Kuwait, and the Republic of Tunisia.
The delegation was briefed on the oasis's facilities and experimental stations, and what it offers in terms of a comprehensive environment for developing, testing, and validating water technologies under real operational conditions, affirming that what they witnessed embodies an advanced model that connects scientific research with practical applications and accelerates the transfer of technologies from the lab to application.
The Authority presented the innovation system hosted by the oasis, which covers the journey of technology development starting from research and development, through the development and manufacturing of prototypes, capacity building, incubation and acceleration, leading to the investment readiness camp, research services, in addition to the Global Water Innovation Platform (GWIP), which connects researchers, innovators, and startups with investors, contributing to the acceleration of technology development and transforming it into applicable solutions.
The delegation learned about the most prominent technologies being developed by the oasis in the fields of desalination, reverse osmosis membranes, nanofiltration membranes, water and wastewater treatment, testing materials for water transport systems, and applications of artificial intelligence in water management.
