يحظى المسجد الحرام بعناية متواصلة من القيادة، في إطار المحافظة على جميع مكوناته وعناصره التاريخية والمعمارية، وتوفير أحدث التقنيات التي تسهم في صيانتها والمحافظة عليها، وأبرزها سُلَّم الكعبة المشرفة الذي يُعد تحفة هندسية متقنة، جُمعت في تصميمها الخصائص المعمارية الإسلامية مع المتطلبات الفنية والوظيفية، وصُنع السلم من أجود أنواع خشب الساج (التك)، ويبلغ طوله (5.65) متر، وارتفاعه (4.80) متر، وعرضه (1.88) متر، فيما يصل وزنه إلى (6,500) كيلوغرام، بما يضمن أعلى درجات المتانة والثبات ومقاومة العوامل الجوية، ويعزز استدامة استخدامه على المدى الطويل.
وأفادت الهيئة العامة للعناية بشؤون المسجد الحرام والمسجد النبوي، أن السلم، الذي تم توفيره عام (2000م)، يضم (24) بطارية تشغيل، ويحتوي في أعلاه على منصة بمحاذاة باب الكعبة المشرفة، تتيح الوصول الآمن والمباشر، إلى جانب بسطة مخصصة لإنارة الكعبة المشرفة من الداخل، كما زُوِّد بفتحات للتكييف المركزي تسهم في تبريد داخل الكعبة، إضافة إلى ثلاثة خزانات لمياه التكييف، وخزان مخصص لغسل الكعبة المشرفة، وآخر لمياه الرجيع، وبيّنت الهيئة، أن السلم يتميز بتصميم هندسي يحقق أعلى مستويات الثبات والأمان أثناء الاستخدام، مع إمكانية تحريكه بسهولة عند الحاجة، كما يزدان بنقوش وزخارف إسلامية دقيقة تعكس جماليات الفن الإسلامي.
The Grand Mosque receives continuous attention from the leadership, as part of the effort to preserve all its historical and architectural components and elements, and to provide the latest technologies that contribute to their maintenance and preservation. Among the most notable is the ladder of the Holy Kaaba, which is considered a masterful engineering masterpiece. Its design combines Islamic architectural characteristics with technical and functional requirements. The ladder is made of the finest types of teak wood, measuring (5.65) meters in length, (4.80) meters in height, and (1.88) meters in width, with a weight of (6,500) kilograms, ensuring the highest levels of durability, stability, and resistance to weather factors, thus enhancing its long-term usability.
The General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques has reported that the ladder, which was provided in the year (2000), includes (24) operational batteries and features a platform at the top aligned with the door of the Holy Kaaba, allowing safe and direct access. Additionally, there is a platform designated for lighting the interior of the Holy Kaaba. It is also equipped with openings for central air conditioning that contribute to cooling the inside of the Kaaba, along with three tanks for air conditioning water, one tank specifically for washing the Holy Kaaba, and another for wastewater. The authority indicated that the ladder is distinguished by an engineering design that achieves the highest levels of stability and safety during use, with the ability to move it easily when needed, and it is adorned with intricate Islamic engravings and decorations that reflect the aesthetics of Islamic art.
