شارك وزير الخارجية الأمير فيصل بن فرحان بن عبدالله في العاصمة الأردنية عمّان أمس، في اجتماع مجلس جامعة الدول العربية على المستوى الوزاري في دورته العادية المستأنفة الـ165.
وجرى خلال الاجتماع استعراض مسيرة العمل العربي المشترك، وسبل دعم منظومة جامعة الدول العربية وتطوير آليات عملها بما يحقق تطلعات الدول الأعضاء فيها.
كما جرت مناقشة آخر التطورات الإقليمية والدولية، بما فيها الترحيب بالاتفاق بين الجمهورية الإسلامية الإيرانية والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، مؤكدين أهمية خفض التصعيد وتهيئة الأجواء لاتفاق شامل يعزز أمن واستقرار المنطقة.
وفي ختام الاجتماع، أعلن وزير الخارجية البحريني رئيس الدورة الحالية لمجلس جامعة الدول العربية الدكتور عبداللطيف بن راشد الزياني رسمياً، اعتماد المجلس قرار تعيين نبيل فهمي أميناً عاماً جديداً لجامعة الدول العربية بتفويض من القادة العرب، اعتباراً من بداية يوليو القادم، متمنياً له نيابة عن الدول الأعضاء بالمجلس التوفيق والنجاح في قيادة الجامعة ومواصلة تطوير العمل العربي المشترك وخدمة القضايا العربية.
حضر الاجتماع سفير خادم الحرمين الشريفين لدى الأردن الأمير منصور بن خالد بن فرحان، ومندوب المملكة الدائم لدى جامعة الدول العربية السفير عبدالعزيز المطر.
Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah participated yesterday in the Jordanian capital, Amman, in the meeting of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level during its resumed 165th ordinary session.
During the meeting, the progress of joint Arab action was reviewed, along with ways to support the Arab League system and develop its mechanisms to achieve the aspirations of its member states.
The latest regional and international developments were also discussed, including welcoming the agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America, emphasizing the importance of de-escalation and creating an atmosphere for a comprehensive agreement that enhances the security and stability of the region.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Bahraini Foreign Minister, who is the current president of the Arab League Council, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, officially announced the council's decision to appoint Nabil Fahmy as the new Secretary-General of the Arab League, with a mandate from the Arab leaders, effective from the beginning of next July, wishing him, on behalf of the member states of the council, success in leading the league and continuing to develop joint Arab action and serve Arab issues.
Attending the meeting were the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Jordan, Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan, and the Kingdom's permanent representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Abdulaziz Al-Matar.
