كشف التقرير السنوي للجنة الوزارية للسلامة المرورية لعام 2025م، تحقيق المملكة انخفاضاً تاريخياً في وفيات الحوادث المرورية تجاوز 60% خلال الفترة من 2016 إلى 2025م؛ نتيجة تكامل جهود الجهات المعنية، وتطوير التشريعات المرورية، والتوسع في استخدام التقنيات الحديثة لضبط المخالفات، إلى جانب رفع كفاءة البنية التحتية، وتحسين سرعة الاستجابة للحوادث.
واستعرض التقرير مؤشرات الأداء الإستراتيجية والتنفيذية، ومستهدفات السلامة المرورية حتى 2027م، إضافة إلى تقييم واقع الشأن المروري في مناطق المملكة، ومنجزات الجهات الأعضاء بما يدعم مستهدفات رؤية المملكة 2030 في تحسين جودة الحياة وخفض الوفيات والإصابات الناتجة عن الحوادث.
وأشار التقرير إلى عدد من المنجزات النوعية خلال 2025م، من أبرزها تحديث نظام المرور ليشمل إبعاد السائقين الأجانب مرتكبي المخالفات الجسيمة، واعتماد نظام النقل البري ولائحته التنفيذية، وتحسين زمن الاستجابة للحالات الطارئة، والبدء بتطبيق معايير «كود الطرق السعودي» في المشاريع الجديدة.
وعلى مستوى المناطق، تصدّرت المنطقة الشرقية ترتيب مناطق المملكة في معايير العناية بالشأن المروري، تلتها منطقة الجوف ثم منطقة جازان.
وأظهرت البيانات أن حوادث اصطدام المركبات المتحركة شكّلت النسبة الأكبر من الحوادث المرورية خلال 2025م، بـ 92.8%، فيما جاءت أبرز مسبّبات الحوادث في عدم ترك مسافة آمنة بنسبة 29.2%، والانحراف المفاجئ بـ27.9%، ومخالفة أحقية المرور بـ10.3%، ما يؤكد أهمية تعزيز الالتزام بالسلوكيات المرورية الآمنة.
وبيّن التقرير أن الوفرة التراكمية في التكاليف الاقتصادية التقديرية الناتجة عن التدخلات الهادفة إلى خفض الحوادث ونتائجها بلغت 83.6 مليار ريال خلال الفترة من 2016 إلى 2025م، مع استبعاد عامي 2020 و2021م؛ بسبب جائحة كورونا.
كما تناول التقرير مؤشرات الوفيات والإصابات داخل المدن وخارجها، ومعدلاتها السكانية، وتوزيع الحوادث بحسب الفئات العمرية والجنسيات، إضافة إلى مقارنة أداء المملكة مع عدد من دول مجموعة العشرين.
The annual report of the Ministerial Committee for Traffic Safety for the year 2025 revealed that the Kingdom achieved a historic reduction in traffic accident fatalities exceeding 60% during the period from 2016 to 2025; as a result of the integrated efforts of the relevant authorities, the development of traffic legislation, the expansion of the use of modern technologies to monitor violations, in addition to improving the efficiency of infrastructure and enhancing the response speed to accidents.
The report reviewed the strategic and executive performance indicators, and traffic safety targets until 2027, in addition to assessing the reality of traffic issues in the regions of the Kingdom, and the achievements of member entities that support the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in improving the quality of life and reducing fatalities and injuries resulting from accidents.
The report highlighted several qualitative achievements during 2025, most notably the update of the traffic system to include the expulsion of foreign drivers committing serious violations, the adoption of the land transport system and its executive regulations, improving response times for emergency cases, and starting to apply the standards of the "Saudi Road Code" in new projects.
At the regional level, the Eastern Province topped the ranking of the Kingdom's regions in traffic care standards, followed by the Al-Jawf region and then the Jazan region.
The data showed that moving vehicle collisions constituted the largest percentage of traffic accidents during 2025, at 92.8%, while the main causes of accidents were failure to maintain a safe distance at 29.2%, sudden lane changes at 27.9%, and violating right of way at 10.3%, highlighting the importance of enhancing adherence to safe traffic behaviors.
The report indicated that the cumulative economic cost estimates resulting from interventions aimed at reducing accidents and their consequences amounted to 83.6 billion riyals during the period from 2016 to 2025, excluding the years 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The report also addressed mortality and injury indicators inside and outside cities, their population rates, the distribution of accidents by age groups and nationalities, in addition to comparing the Kingdom's performance with several countries in the G20.
