يشارك المنتخب السعودي للعلوم والهندسة –ممثلاً في مؤسسة الملك عبدالعزيز ورجاله للموهبة والإبداع (موهبة) ووزارة التعليم– في معرض ريجينيرون الدولي للعلوم والهندسة (آيسف 2026)، الذي يُقام من 9 إلى 15 مايو الجاري في مدينة فينيكس بولاية أريزونا الأمريكية، بمشاركة أكثر من 1700 طالب وطالبة من نحو 70 دولة حول العالم. ويواصل المنتخب السعودي حضوره المميز في المعرض، بعد أن حصد حتى الآن 185 جائزة؛ منها 124 جائزة كبرى و61 جائزة خاصة، محققاً في النسخة الماضية المركز الثاني عالمياً في عدد الجوائز الكبرى بعد الولايات المتحدة.
ويضم وفد المملكة 42 طالباً وطالبة يشاركون بمشاريع نوعية في مجالات علمية واعدة، جرى اختيارهم من بين الفائزين بالجوائز الكبرى في الأولمبياد الوطني للإبداع العلمي (إبداع 2026)، الذي يُعد أحد أبرز برامج (موهبة) السنوية لاكتشاف ورعاية الموهوبين.
وتأهل الطلبة بعد منافسة شارك فيها أكثر من 357 ألف طالب وطالبة قدموا ما يزيد على 34 ألف مشروع علمي في 22 مجالاً، مروراً بست مراحل تقييم دقيقة شملت 16 معرضاً على مستوى المناطق، وأربعة معارض مركزية، وصولاً إلى معرض إبداع للعلوم والهندسة، ثم الترشيح النهائي عقب معسكر تأهيلي مكثف في مركز «مشكاة» التفاعلي.
وسجلت (موهبة) إنجازاً عالمياً بدخول (إبداع 2026) موسوعة غينيس للأرقام القياسية كأكبر مسابقة للحلول الابتكارية في العالم، بعد تجاوز عدد المشاريع المشاركة 34 ألف مشروع، في تأكيد على تقدم المملكة في دعم الابتكار وتنمية رأس المال البشري. وخضع الطلبة المشاركون في (آيسف) لبرامج تدريبية مكثفة نفذتها (موهبة) على مدى عام كامل، شملت اختبارات تشخيصية وترشيحية، وتدريباً متخصصاً على مهارات البحث العلمي والعرض والإلقاء، بهدف تأهيلهم لتمثيل المملكة في أكبر محفل علمي دولي للطلبة الموهوبين.
The Saudi team for Science and Engineering, represented by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) and the Ministry of Education, is participating in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF 2026), which is being held from May 9 to 15 in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, with the participation of more than 1,700 students from about 70 countries around the world. The Saudi team continues to make a remarkable presence at the fair, having won 185 awards so far, including 124 grand prizes and 61 special awards, achieving second place globally in the number of grand prizes after the United States in the last edition.
The Kingdom's delegation includes 42 students participating with quality projects in promising scientific fields, selected from among the grand prize winners at the National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity (Ibda'a 2026), which is one of Mawhiba's most prominent annual programs for discovering and nurturing talented individuals.
The students qualified after competing against more than 357,000 students who submitted over 34,000 scientific projects in 22 fields, going through six precise evaluation stages that included 16 regional fairs and four central fairs, culminating in the Ibda'a Science and Engineering Fair, followed by final nominations after an intensive qualifying camp at the "Mishkat" interactive center.
Mawhiba achieved a global milestone by entering Ibda'a 2026 into the Guinness World Records as the largest competition for innovative solutions in the world, after the number of participating projects exceeded 34,000, confirming the Kingdom's progress in supporting innovation and developing human capital. The students participating in ISEF underwent intensive training programs implemented by Mawhiba over a full year, which included diagnostic and screening tests, as well as specialized training on scientific research skills, presentation, and public speaking, aimed at preparing them to represent the Kingdom at the largest international scientific event for gifted students.
