أكدت السعودية خطورة الأوضاع في المنطقة، مجددة إدانتها للاعتداءات الإسرائيلية على فلسطين ولبنان.
جاء ذلك في كلمة المندوب الدائم للمملكة لدى الأمم المتحدة، الدكتور عبدالعزيز الواصل، التي شدد فيها على إدانة المملكة للهجمات الإيرانية على منشآت مدنية وما خلفته من أضرار بشرية ومادية.
وأكدت السعودية رفضها تغيير الوضع التاريخي والقانوني في القدس ومقدساتها الإسلامية، وإدانتها الاستيطان غير القانوني لمخالفته القانون الدولي وتقويضه فرص السلام.
وشددت على أن تحقيق السلام يتطلب وقف إطلاق النار، ومنع التهجير، والانسحاب من غزة، وإقامة دولة فلسطينية على حدود عام 1967.
Saudi Arabia has confirmed the seriousness of the situation in the region, reiterating its condemnation of the Israeli attacks on Palestine and Lebanon.
This was stated in the speech of the Kingdom's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, who emphasized the Kingdom's condemnation of the Iranian attacks on civilian facilities and the resulting human and material damages.
Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its rejection of any changes to the historical and legal status of Jerusalem and its Islamic sanctities, condemning the illegal settlements for violating international law and undermining peace opportunities.
It stressed that achieving peace requires a ceasefire, preventing displacement, withdrawing from Gaza, and establishing a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders.
