شهدت جدة، أمس (السبت)، موجة من الغبار الكثيف ألزمت الكثيرين البقاء في منازلهم خصوصاً مصابي الربو والحساسية، ولم تسجل أي أضرار مادية جراء الأتربة المثارة. ولاحظت «عكاظ»، انخفاض حركة السيارات في الشوارع والمحاور الرئيسية في انتظار انجلاء الغبار الكثيف.
وكان المركز الوطني للأرصاد، أشار في تقريره اليومي إلى رياح نشطة مثيرة للأتربة على محافظات جدة، ورابغ، وبحرة، والكامل، وخليص، والليث، تشمل المناطق المفتوحة والطرق السريعة؛ تؤدي إلى تدنٍ في مدى الرؤية الأفقية. وأوضح التقرير، أن درجة الحرارة العظمى بلغت 39 درجة مئوية، فيما تصل الصغرى إلى 29 درجة مئوية، مع نسبة رطوبة تقدر بنحو 40%. كما نبَّه المركز من هبوب رياح شديدة على منطقة حائل، تشمل المناطق المفتوحة والطرق السريعة؛ تؤدي إلى تدنٍّ في مدى الرؤية الأفقية، ورياحٍ، وفي تقريره الشامل أوضح المركز جريان سيول مصحوبة بزخات من البرد ورياح نشطة شديدة السرعة مثيرة للأتربة والغبار، تؤدي إلى انعدام أو شبه انعدام في مدى الرؤية الأفقية على أجزاء من مناطق الحدود الشمالية، والجوف، وتبوك، والمدينة المنورة، وحائل، والقصيم، تمتد إلى الأجزاء الشمالية من المنطقة الشرقية، وعلى أجزاء من مناطق مكة المكرمة، والباحة، وعسير، وجازان، وخفيفة إلى متوسطة على أجزاء من منطقة الرياض.
Jeddah experienced a wave of thick dust yesterday (Saturday) that forced many to stay indoors, especially those suffering from asthma and allergies, with no material damage reported due to the raised dust. "Okaz" observed a decrease in vehicle movement on the streets and main thoroughfares as people awaited the clearing of the thick dust.
The National Center of Meteorology indicated in its daily report that there were active winds stirring up dust in the provinces of Jeddah, Rabigh, Bahra, Al-Kamil, Khulais, and Al-Lith, affecting open areas and highways, leading to a reduction in horizontal visibility. The report stated that the maximum temperature reached 39 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was 29 degrees Celsius, with a humidity level estimated at around 40%. The center also warned of strong winds in the Hail region, affecting open areas and highways, which would lead to a decrease in horizontal visibility. In its comprehensive report, the center detailed the occurrence of floods accompanied by showers of hail and strong, active winds stirring up dust, resulting in a complete or near-complete absence of horizontal visibility in parts of the Northern Borders, Al-Jouf, Tabuk, Medina, Hail, and Qassim regions, extending to the northern parts of the Eastern Province, and in parts of the Makkah, Al-Baha, Asir, and Jazan regions, with light to moderate conditions in parts of the Riyadh region.
