قتل 17 شخصا في هجوم مسلح في ولاية بينو وسط نيجيريا.
وأكدت السلطات المحلية وقوع الهجوم في قرية مبالوم التابعة لمنطقة غوير ايست، مشيرة إلى سقوط قتلى وجرحى.
وحمّل حاكم ولاية بينو، هياسينث آليا، مسؤولية الهجوم لـ«رعاة مسلحين مشتبه بهم».
وتعاني ولايات وسط غرب نيجيريا من أزمة أمنية متعددة الأوجه، في ظل نشاط عصابات مسلحة تنهب القرى وتخطف السكان وتروعهم، ووجود جماعات مسلحة نشطة في شمال غرب البلاد تعمل على توسيع نطاق نفوذها جنوبا.
Seventeen people were killed in an armed attack in Benue State, central Nigeria.
Local authorities confirmed the attack in the village of Mbalom in the Gwer East area, noting that there were fatalities and injuries.
The Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, blamed the attack on "suspected armed herdsmen."
The central-western states of Nigeria are suffering from a multifaceted security crisis, with armed gangs raiding villages, kidnapping residents, and instilling fear, alongside the presence of active armed groups in the northwest of the country that are working to expand their influence southward.
