يدخل مسجد البديوي بمحافظة الوجه فصلاً تاريخياً جديداً بعد الإعلان عن ترميمه وتأهيله، ضمن المرحلة الثالثة من مشروع الأمير محمد بن سلمان لتطوير المساجد التاريخية.
ورصدت «عكاظ» لوحة المشروع التي أوضحت أن مدة التنفيذ تبلغ 12 شهراً، على أن يكون الاستلام الابتدائي في 28 / 7 / 2026، بقيمة 5,787,985.65 ريال وفقاً للعقد.
ويعود تاريخ المسجد إلى أكثر من 152 عاماً، و شُيّد في 1295هـ بحسب وزارة الشؤون الإسلامية والدعوة والإرشاد.
الحفاظ على التراث
و أوضح المهندس كارم محمود، بأن مهمتهم هي إزالة جميع الإضافات الدخيلة وإرجاع المسجد إلى هيئته الأصلية التي بُني عليها والحفاظ على شكله التراثي مع تدعيم وتقوية جميع أجزائه وأركانه.
و يأمل الإداري في المشروع المسؤول عن أمن وسلامة الموظفين والعمال والزوار المهندس عبدالرحمن سامي لاشين، الانتهاء من ترميم وتأهيل المسجد بدعم وتكاتف الجميع قبل التاريخ المبرم في العقد.
توسعة مباركة

وقال إمام وخطيب جامع البديوي الشيخ عبدالجليل بن بكر الفقيه لـ«عكاظ»" تأسس المسجد في 1295هـ، بمسمى زاوية بديوي إذ قام ببنائه الشيخ بديوي شحاته مع كُتَّاب لتحفيظ الطلاب للقرآن الكريم وعلومه مع تعليمهم لعلوم الحساب، كان يقوم به إمام وخطيب المسجد آنذاك الشيخ محمد بن أحمد بن عيسى الفقيه وذلك من عام 1300 إلى عام 1340 هـ، مشيراً إلى أنه جرى ترميم المسجد أكثر من مرة كانت أولاها من قِبَل ابن مؤسس المسجد الشيخ مصطفى بديوي وفي عام 1416، تم ترميمه بحجر الرياض ما غير من معالمه التراثية، فاستوجب إعادته للمظهر الأصلي وهو ما سوف يكون عليه بهذه التوسعة المباركة.
وأضاف بأن الوضوء في ذلك الوقت كان من ماء البحر إذ تم حفر بئر في آخر المسجد تصل للبحر وبجانبه بركة تملأ بمائه لوضوء المصلين، ومازالت البئر موجودة حتى يومنا هذا.
The Al-Badiwi Mosque in Al-Wajh Governorate enters a new historical phase following the announcement of its restoration and rehabilitation, as part of the third phase of Prince Mohammed bin Salman's project to develop historical mosques.
"Okaz" monitored the project board, which indicated that the execution period is 12 months, with the preliminary handover scheduled for 28/7/2026, at a cost of 5,787,985.65 Riyals according to the contract.
The mosque dates back more than 152 years, having been built in 1295 AH according to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance.
Preserving Heritage
Engineer Karam Mahmoud explained that their mission is to remove all foreign additions and restore the mosque to its original form while preserving its heritage appearance, along with reinforcing and strengthening all its parts and corners.
The project administrator responsible for the safety and security of employees, workers, and visitors, Engineer Abdulrahman Sami Lashin, hopes to complete the restoration and rehabilitation of the mosque with the support and cooperation of everyone before the date stipulated in the contract.
Blessed Expansion

The Imam and preacher of Al-Badiwi Mosque, Sheikh Abduljalil bin Bakr Al-Faqih, told "Okaz": "The mosque was established in 1295 AH, originally named Al-Badiwi Corner, built by Sheikh Badiwi Shahat with a school for teaching students the Quran and its sciences, along with teaching them arithmetic. The Imam and preacher of the mosque at that time was Sheikh Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Isa Al-Faqih, from the year 1300 to 1340 AH." He pointed out that the mosque has been restored multiple times, the first of which was by the son of the mosque's founder, Sheikh Mustafa Badiwi. In 1416, it was restored with Riyadh stone, which altered its heritage features, necessitating its return to the original appearance, which will be achieved with this blessed expansion.
He added that at that time, ablution was done with seawater, as a well was dug at the end of the mosque reaching the sea, alongside a pool filled with its water for the worshippers' ablution, and the well still exists to this day.
