Russia has warned Britain of "inevitable consequences" if it continues to supply Ukraine with drones used to carry out long-range attacks on targets within its territory.

Moscow announced today (Tuesday) that the capital was subjected to a wide Ukrainian attack using hundreds of drones.

Inevitable Consequences

The Russian warning came through the Moscow embassy in London, in response to a report published by The Times last Saturday, revealing the use of British-made drones for the first time in long-range attacks against Russia.

The Russian embassy stated in a message published via Telegram that "London's actions" would lead to "inevitable consequences," adding that Britain "will have to bear responsibility for that."

The embassy added, "The deeper its involvement in the conflict and the greater its support for the terrorist machine of Kyiv, the higher the price it will have to pay."

Ukraine is using long-range drones to target facilities inside Russia, including oil refineries and logistical facilities. The British Ministry of Defense has not confirmed whether British-made drones were used in the attacks.

Funding Package for Ukraine

Britain announced in June that it would send 150,000 drones to Ukraine by the end of 2026, as part of a funding package worth £752 million, or about $996 million.

A spokesperson for the British Ministry of Defense, in response to the Russian warning, stated that the country "stands shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine," and is committed to providing the equipment it needs "to defend itself against the illegal invasion launched by Putin."

Since the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2022, Moscow has repeatedly warned Britain and other Western allies that supporting Kyiv and supplying it with equipment could lead to retaliatory measures and increase the risks of escalation.

The Russian warning coincided with the announcement by Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin that Ukraine launched 620 drones at the capital and its suburbs during the early hours of Tuesday, in one of the largest Ukrainian aerial attacks on Moscow.

Sobyanin stated that Russian forces shot down 180 drones over the Moscow region, while rescue teams were working at the sites of the debris falls.

Ukrainian Drones

In contrast, the governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov, stated that drones hit a warehouse of the Russian e-commerce company "Wildberries" and other facilities near the capital, resulting in injuries to at least three people, including a 10-year-old girl.

The company reported that the warehouse sustained minor damage after debris from drones struck one of its walls.

Other areas controlled by Russia, including the Crimean Peninsula, reported being subjected to intense Ukrainian drone attacks.

The company "Krymenergo," the largest energy provider in Crimea, stated that residential areas in the south of the peninsula were attacked overnight. It added that the attacks caused power outages in several residential areas, noting that the situation regarding power supplies remains difficult in the northwest, east, and south of Crimea.
