The director of the Yemeni port of Mokha, Abdul Malik Al-Sharabi, revealed to "Okaz" that the brutal Houthi attack was carried out using about 25 drones, explaining that the attack directly and systematically targeted the infrastructure and vital economic facilities of the port.

Al-Sharabi clarified that the criminal attacks launched by the Houthi terrorist militia affected vital economic facilities, the residences of employees and workers, in addition to the destruction of a hangar belonging to the customs administration, and the logistical services of the port, including the dredger and several other service equipment, resulting in the deaths of martyrs and a number of injuries among civilians and workers, describing the attack as unprecedented, terrorist, and barbaric.

​Systematic targeting of the economic infrastructure

Al-Sharabi stated that the attack was savage and aimed at targeting the Yemeni national economy and the livelihoods of citizens, noting that the Houthi assaults are still ongoing, and that the relevant authorities and emergency teams are working to assess and monitor the scale of the damage and the heavy losses inflicted on the port and its vital facilities.

He called on the international community, the United Nations, and the Security Council to take a firm and decisive stance to stop these ongoing terrorist assaults that threaten international navigation and the humanitarian and economic infrastructure in Yemen.

The port of Mokha was subjected to a Houthi terrorist attack that resulted in the death of about 8 people, including 3 military personnel, while government forces succeeded in destroying more than 16 drones in the past hours.
