ذكرت صحيفة «نيويورك بوست»، أمس، أن صانعة الصفقات الكبرى كاثرين وايلد، التي تعد ثالث أهم شخصية في نيويورك، أجرت محادثات مع ممثلين لصندوق الثروة السيادية السعودية، بشأن إمكان انضمامها إلى صندوق الاستثمارات العامة، بصفة مستشارة للصندوق.
وأضافت، أن المحادثات بين ممثلي «السيادي السعودي» ووايلد جرت خلال عطلات نهاية السنة الميلادية. وظلت وايلد (79 عاماً) أبرز صانعي الاتفاقات، خصوصاً لمصلحة مدينة نيويورك طوال الـ 30 عاماً الماضية. لكنها أعلنت، أنها قررت الاستقالة من منصبها رئيسةً تنفيذيةً لمؤسسة «شراكات من أجل نيويورك» غير الربحية.
وأعلنت، أنها ستتقاعد خلال 2026، عند بلوغها عامها الـ 80. ويعتبر «حيتان» المال في بورصة نيويورك من أصدقائها المقربين، ومنهم الرئيس التنفيذي لبنك جى بي مورغان جايمي دايمون. واختارها عمدة نيويورك الجديد زهران ممداني عضواً بارزاً في فريقه الانتقالي.
ونقلت الصحيفة عن مصادر مطلعة، أن وايلد، التي ذُكر في عام 2018 أن راتبها يبلغ 1.6 مليون دولار شهرياً، أنها تسعى إلى وضع علاقاتها الوثيقة بمليارديرات نيويورك وصلتها الوثيقة بأول عمدة مسلم لنيويورك تحت تصرف الصندوق السيادي السعودي، الذي تقدر أصوله حول العالم بتريليون دولار.

The newspaper quoted informed sources that Wild, who was reported in 2018 to have a salary of $1.6 million per month, is seeking to leverage her close relationships with New York billionaires and her close ties to the first Muslim mayor of New York for the benefit of the Saudi sovereign fund, which has assets estimated at one trillion dollars worldwide.
